🎨☀️ **Creativity was in the air at Trojan Learning Center today!** ☀️🎨

Our children had SO much fun getting creative outside with shaving cream and paint! They turned our cement into a colorful canvas filled with their own unique designs and imagination. 🖌️🌈

There’s nothing better than enjoying a beautiful day outdoors while making a little (okay, maybe a LOT 😄) of colorful art! Our kiddos truly enjoyed every minute of it! 💕🎨

🌿🍃 Our toddlers had a wonderful morning exploring the great outdoors! They went on a nature scavenger hunt, searching for trees, grass, leaves, and rocks while discovering all the different colors and textures nature has to offer. 🌳🍂🪨

We were especially thankful for the cool morning weather—it was the perfect break from South Dakota's heat wave! ☀️💚 Learning is always more fun when you can explore the world around you!

✨ **A little science + a lot of creativity!** 🎨🪼⭐

Our preschoolers and school-age students had a blast creating colorful **jellyfish and stars** this morning! First, our teachers designed each picture using **glue and salt**, then the students used **food coloring mixed with water** to bring their artwork to life. Watching the colors travel through the salt was almost as exciting as seeing their finished masterpieces!

There were lots of smiles, bright colors, and creative imaginations at work today. We love providing hands-on activities that make learning fun while encouraging creativity and exploration.

What a purr-fect afternoon at Trojan Learning Center! 🐱👟 Toddlers, Preschoolers, and School-Aged friends teamed up for a storytime of Pete the Cat - then put their imaginations to work designing the COOLEST shoes Pete should wear! Our little designers knocked our socks off! Could a famous shoe company spot these masterpieces?? We think so! 😝 ✨

We have some openings For Toddlers/Preschoolers in August! We have 1 infant opening currently!

We plan to have a strict curriculum for Prek to get them ready for big kid school! We also have a set learning curriculum for toddlers! As for infants, we are caring with their cues and helping with fine/motor skills! We have also introduced basic sign language to older infants and toddlers!

Today we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it’s a time to remember the sacrifice, courage, and dedication of those who never made it home.
As we gather with family and friends, may we also pause to reflect with gratitude and respect for our fallen heroes. Their legacy lives on in the freedoms we enjoy every day.

Staff, Parents, and Guardians of Trojan Learning Center,

Hello! My name is Alyssa Kohler, and I am excited to introduce myself as the new Director of the Trojan Learning Center. Some of you may already recognize me from the past few weeks, as I have been serving as the center’s cook.

My family and I recently moved to Parkston about a month ago. I was married this past January, and my husband and I have a wonderful two-year-old daughter who also attends the center. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, and enjoying an iced coffee or an Alani. A fun fact about me is that I am allergic to chocolate!

Childcare has always been a passion of mine, and I have worked in the field for most of my life. My experience includes roles as a babysitter, childcare provider, curriculum coordinator, and now director. I am also close to completing my Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification.

I am deeply committed to creating a safe, engaging, and fun learning environment where children can grow and thrive. I am truly excited to begin this journey alongside the children, families, and staff of Trojan Learning Center, and I look forward to supporting and watching both the children
and our community continue to grow.
