For all my retired ladies over 40: change doesn’t always have to be monumental. Sometimes it’s about gentle shifts. Like deciding to invest in fake flowers instead of real florals because you want to spend your time elsewhere. Change can be subtle. Try it on!
Being retired is such a gift. But it can certainly be an adjustment, especially if you and your spouse go from 9-5 life, to suddenly being home together 24/7. Or perhaps you were the stay at home parent who enjoyed a certain amount of time home alone and that has since shifted. Just remember, it’s totally okay to communicate when you need space during this new life season!

For all my retired folks over 60, you’ll relate to this. You are now the elder in your family! And if you don’t make conscious choices to continue evolving and growing in this new season you risk being that person giving outdated, unsolicited advice.
When you’re feeling hurt or angry at someone in your life, it’s often because we feel disappointed or let down by someone we love. But it’s good to remember that LOVE is the foundation and we can make wonderful things happen when we operate from that place.
Looking for proof you’ve grown, evolved and changed into this new season of life? Well… if you’re starting to do your hair like your grandmother did… then you’ve certainly stepped into a new life season!
The ever changing relationship of parent and child continues to evolve, especially once those kids are grown adults with their own lives and families. But just because they have their own lives or live far away doesn’t mean you stop loving them — it’s just loving them at a distance.
How are you spending your retirement? Everyone enjoys it differently. Right now I’m loving wearing whatever I want, whenever I want. Simply because I can!
If you haven’t tried taking the backroads or the back alleys of your town and city, there is no better time to try.
What do I do with my time now that I’m a retired woman over the age of 60?
I can tell you what I DONT do: spend time getting fancy for no reason, invest in one sided friendships, wait for others to do the things I’ve dreamed of, and strive, struggle and search. How about you? What things are you no longer doing?
