ATTENTION: FYI; Training/Job Opportunities!
OAI has a new program called "Strengthening Working Families Initiative." This program is designed for people with children under the age of 13 who would like to receive career training. Training options are in Welding, Forklift, C.N.A. and IT. We’re currently recruiting for Welding – start date January 23rd, Forklift – start date January 30th. Trainings will be held at Prairie State College. Tuition, books, childcare and transportation are all paid for through the grant. If you have anyone who could benefit from this program please have them call our office for an appointment or come to the next orientation on Thursday, January 12th at 10am at our Park Forest office. They’ll need to bring the following documents;
Picture ID or proof of address
H.S. Diploma or GED
Birth Certificate
Proof of income, i.e. TANF, SNAP, Paystubs, etc.
If they don’t have all of their documents they should still come to the orientation. Custodial and noncustodial parents are eligible. All trainees will receive placement assistance upon completion of training. If you have any questions please give me a call on my cell phone listed below. Thanks for your help!
