She is an award-winning registered dietitian with over 29 years experience as a counselor and clinical nutritionist. Teri has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, and food science from accredited universities. Her div

erse background spans wellness, fitness, and disease prevention; clinical nutrition; culinary arts, and management. Teri has advanced training and certifications in adult weight management, stress management, health promotion, and functional medicine and has held numerous leadership and teaching positions with non-profits, universities, colleges, and professional groups. Her skills include writing, speaking, cooking, health and environmental program/campaign development, and public/media relations. During her career Teri has developed diet programs and coordinated nutrition care for >5000 people. As a personal nutrition counselor she has helped people lose fat, improve blood lipids, lower blood pressure, adopt permanent healthy habits, maximize sports performance, improve gut function, manage gluten and food intolerance, live better with a major illness, or heal after surgery. As the clinical nutritionist on a health care team, she has worked in a variety of settings, including medical clinics, hospitals, universities, and nursing homes. A sample of her experience: award-winning behavior modification research; managing a diabetic clinic; teaching sports nutrition; sports nutrition research; work with gastroenterologist treating digestive disorders; created a cardiac rehab program; over a decade teaching and implementing heart health, weight loss, and wellness programs. In addition to her love for wellness and nutrition, since 1975, after taking a college course in Human Ecology, Teri has been passionately involved in environmental health. After many decades of study and experience in the environmental and nutrition fields she has a great understanding of the profound connections between the American diet, disease, and the environment. In her personal life, Teri is married and lives in Park City, Utah. She has a passion for cooking, art, gardening, outdoor recreation or all kinds, wildlife, and nature. The company is dedicated to promoting a sustainable diet that achieves good health for people and the planet.

“Raw fruits and veggies nourish the gut as a key source of prebiotics, as well as microbes. In fact, a whole apple (core and stem included) contains some 100 million microorganisms, according to a study published in the journal Frontiers in Microbiology. Though conventional and organic apples boast about the same amount of microbes, the kind of bacteria differs significantly.

Organic apples exhibit a more diverse group of bacteria than conventional apples, with a notable amount of Lactobacillus (often found in probiotics) present, the study found. Conventional apples, on the other hand, are more likely than organic apples to contain strands of bad bacteria that can cause food poisoning.”
