Add this incredible and unique state park to your southwest road trip itinerary! I didn’t even know it existed until I did a simple search for, “other places to see around Great Basin National Park”.

It’s similar to other parks in Utah with its magnificent slot canyons and cathedral-like formations, but that view from the top of the canyon is pretty unique and special.

If we had more time, I would’ve loved to hike the entire canyon. The trail looks pretty flat and easy (not to mention, spectacular).

If you only have an hour like we did, stop by the visitor center briefly before continuing on to the Moon Caves (Slot Canyons). That’s where you’ll find all the cool and narrow slot canyons. Keep driving down the canyon to encounter more slot canyons at Cathedral Cave.

Believe it or not, I only have 10 vacation days a year so you bet I make the most out of my weekends! Our most recent 2.5 day trip took us to the lesser known – but breathtaking – sights of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. 🌲🌳
