How can AI help improve math student learning and outcomes?
That’s the question behind a new University of Colorado Denver AI Sprint Grant-supported project exploring how students can use AI more productively in their math courses.
We’re excited that MathGPT.ai is being used in Calculus I to support this project.
Unlike general-purpose AI tools designed to provide quick answers, MathGPT.ai is built to support the learning process—encouraging students to show their work, think through problems, and build conceptual understanding while giving instructors greater control and flexibility.
Research like this is an important step toward understanding how AI can be used responsibly in higher education.

Launched earlier this year, the CU system Artificial Intelligence (AI) Sprint Grant: AI for Teaching & Learning is focused on improving course outcomes using AI with goals of supporting and accelerating innovative teaching practices that leverage AI to enhance student learning.
