Flying 30 different types of airplanes, logging 1150 hours of flight time, and providing nearly 550 hours of instruction. Jason Murphy CFI, CFI-I, MEI, AGI, IGI

I am a native of Palmyra MO having dedicated my life to community service through law enforcement, volunteer firefighting, healthcare and now aviation, being both a flight nurse and flight instructor. Each student, just like their instruc

tor, is a culmination of their life experiences. Beginning my aviation journey in 2018, I took my first flying lesson in Macon Missouri after joining the Macon Flying Club. Since that time I have obtained Commercial Single & Multi Engine Ratings, and Instructor ratings for Single Engine, Multi Engine, and Instrument Airplane. From advancing my nursing degrees to earning my pilot certifications, pursuing knowledge with dedication and discipline has always been a priority. In aviation, continuing education is essential for safety, skill, and confidence in the skies. I am committed to exceeding ongoing industry standards while bringing the highest level of professionalism to each and every lesson. Assisting the Aircraft Mechanic with routine maintenance of the airplane I had purchased and building an experimental amateur built aircraft gave me an in depth understanding of aircraft systems and functions. Combining that with 9 years of practical experience as a flight nurse has proved a unique depth and perspective to real world flight operations. I have been married to my wife Kristen for the past 16 years. We are raising our children Jaden, Elijah, and Scarlett in Palmyra MO and are actively involved in our community.

A few days late, Congratulation's to Todd Hays on his Solo Flight 2.0. Todd had first solo flight in 2023. With many students life happens which took him away from his goals. Even with planting season underway Todd is doing well and will meet all of his certification requirements soon! Thank you to Del Buckman for the video!

Today was a big day, and I couldn’t be more proud of Wyatt Tuley for passing his Private Pilot check ride at 18 years old before graduating high school.

This achievement didn’t come easy, and watching him push himself to reach this goal has been incredibly rewarding. The following is a testimony of the hard work and dedication that was required.

Wyatt’s previous instructor reached out to me and explained the situation. We knew the timeline and expectations were going to be tough. It had been some time since he had flown and he needed to knock the rust off and get up to speed in a hurry. Wyatt had a deadline, a dream, and a lot of work to get accomplished before goin to the Air Force Academy. Family commitments narrowed our time frame further and intensified the pressure. We both knew it was going to take complete commitment to make this goal happen.

Moving forward and building on the training from his previous instructors we developed a plan and spent the past 25 days hard at it. Logging countless hours of flight training, ground training, studying, exam prep, flight planning, phone calls, texts, conference calls, and long days and nights at the airport. There were missed evenings at home, constant schedule changes, and sacrifices made to stay on track.

But Wyatt showed up every single time ready to work. He stayed coachable, determined, and willing to put in the effort no matter how exhausting the process became. That’s what made today possible.

People see the check ride pass, but they don’t always see the grind behind it. Aviation takes discipline, consistency, trust, and a whole lot of work behind the scenes. Watching a student put all the pieces together and succeed makes every hour worth it.

Congratulations, Wyatt. You earned this, and I’m proud to have been part of your journey. Excited to see where aviation takes you next. ✈️

Yesterday was a pretty awesome day!

Congratulations, Colten on obtaining his instrument rating. Colten has been putting in a lot of hard work over the last 9 months and it paid off.

Colten is now authorized to fly in conditions that are less than VFR using electronic signals to reach his destination safely.

Congratulations, Colten

Today my student and I tried something new.

We made an approach and landing onto a grass landing strip outside of town.

This is something many pilots have only rehearsed on pavement in preparation for their checkride.

Big thanks to the owner for permitting the use of his runway for training!
