💙💛 National FFA Day of Service | National FFA Week 💛💙

Today, Palmer FFA and Palmer Junior FFA came together for the National FFA Day of Service during National FFA Week to support a local community need—our MatSu Animal Shelter!

Students put their hands and hearts to work creating cat toys and cat scratchers, helping meet a real and practical need for the animals in our community. We love that the MatSu Animal Shelter had a specific need & we were able to help fill that need!!🐾

We love opportunities like this—where leadership, service, and compassion come together. Giving back is at the heart of FFA, and today was a great reminder of how powerful it is when students show up to serve.

Our amazing Palmer High FFA Advisor, Corinne Henderson, and her husband Sam Henderson have welcomed their sweet baby boy! Mom and baby are doing great, and we’d love to come alongside their family with a meal train as they settle into this new season.

Palmer Middle FFA was able to check out Vanderweele Farms to see how they store and package their potato and carrot crops. Big thanks to Arthur Keyes for the tour. Palmer Junior Middle School

FFA in the MatSu School District needs your help before Wednesday night! FFA is trying to get the teaching union bargaining team to take FFA stipends to the bargaining table. Right now, the teaching contract outlines that high school FFA advisors get paid a level 2, which equates to 24 hours of work outside of normal hours - equal to an elementary coach. Middle school FFA advisors get paid nothing. We want to show the teaching union, district office, and the school board that the community loves and supports FFA, which starts with the advisors. Without the advisors pouring into the programs, the FFA chapters would not be robust, giving back to the community, and growing the leaders of tomorrow.
