Got questions? Send me a message
07/12/2021
I have had tons of questions lately about using email lists. In particular, the most common thing I'm hearing is some version of "What do I even say in an email?"
My biggest piece of advice for getting something out to your email list consistently is to not overthink it.
Your emails should be relatively short - they aren't blog posts! Seriously, 200 words is fine if it says what you need it to say.
And your emails should offer some value to the reader, even if it's just checking in to see how they're doing.
Examples of things I include in my clients' emails to their lists include:
*Monthly financial tip
*A new recipe
*An article linking to new research
*A link to their latest podcast interview
*A link to their most recent blog post
For most service-based entrepreneurs, your personality is a key piece of your brand. So let it shine through in your emails! Don't worry about perfect. Just get it out there.

What are you doing for fun today?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We are in really hard times and I needed a boost in morale.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So my fun is repurposing some postcards I had printed for for my presentation into actual postcards I am going to send out as happy mail!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Exciting things are happening and I can’t wait to share them all with you over the next few weeks.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I just have to get these procrastinators through the tax deadline first :)

Q4..Who's Ready!?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As the last few month of the year tick away what are your Q4 goals? Do you write down goals?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you started a quarantine business and haven't kept track of your finances up until now, it's time.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you have been in business awhile and haven't kept track of your finances, it's time.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Get organized so you can make sound financial decisions and work with a tax planner to reduce your tax burden.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ways to keep track of your income and expenses:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Excel Spreadsheet - download your transactions from the bank and add the categories and a filter.
2. Quickbooks Self Employed - this was designed for a 1099 contractor, think UBER or Lyft Driver
3. Quickbooks Online - there are different levels of QBO. Which version you need depends on your business
Other options: Freshbooks, Xero or WAVEAPPS.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Whichever accounting software you use. Make sure you are using it because it fits your specific business needs VS someone said it would be good for you.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Set up a time to chat about your business and we can figure out which is best for you!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One time I had an initial meetup with a business owner. We got into her needs and what she was doing now, she thought she needed an accounting software set up. BUT after going through her business and her amazing excel spreadsheet we kept her doing the spreadsheet. It's not about what your accountant wants, its about what works best for you and your business.
Monday's got me like...

What I hear from moms who own businesses as to why they can’t participate in the mob yet....
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I have kids at home
When they do, cuz, then they’ll check it out
I don’t have time
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What I hear from moms who own a business when they get out of their own way and start to participate....
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The MOB is life changing
I can’t believe I didn’t join sooner
I wasted so much time not joining
I found my people
You all understand me exactly for what I am going through
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The list goes on and on! The point being, if you are a mom owned business and you haven’t come to one of these powerful meetups or joined the alliance...you need it now more than ever.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
mobnation was created my out of a need she wanted filled in her life back in 2012. Being a mom and a business owner is not for the faint of heart! We are all in this together and we can rise together!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Already a member? Tag your MOB besties and tell how has the MOB impacted your life?
