Upper back tight?
Between desks, driving, devices, stress and the general demands of life, many of us spend our days rounded forward.
This supported restorative fish pose is one of my favorite ways to create space across the chest, shoulders, and upper back while encouraging deeper breathing and relaxation.
✨ Opens the chest and shoulders
✨ Counteracts hunching and slouching
✨ Encourages fuller, easier breathing
✨ Relieves tension in the upper back
✨ Supports relaxation and nervous system regulation
Stay for 3-5 minutes and let the props do the work.
💜 Save this for later.
💜 Share with someone carrying tension between their shoulder blades.

Most neck tension starts higher than we think.
yoga taught me this gentle occipital ridge release during Yin Yoga Teacher Training.
It can help soften tension in the:
• upper neck
• jaw
• base of the skull
• shoulders
• upper spine
Gentle and slow movements work best here.
No forcing.
Our nervous system responds better to gentleness than intensity. ✨
Save this for later and send it to someone carrying stress in their neck and shoulders.
In a world that constantly asks us to do more, Yin teaches us how to soften, listen, and simply be. 🤍
Grateful to have completed my Yin Yoga Teacher Training this weekend.
Beyond thankful to train with .yoga and for her boundless teachings on Traditional Chinese Medicine, the meridians, nervous system regulation, and the deeper layers of this practice - along with the laughter, growth, and beautiful community that shared this journey together. ✨
Excited to continue weaving Yin Yoga, mindfulness, and deep rest into my gentle and restorative classes here in Palm Harbor and beyond. 🤍
Heavy body?
Tight chest?
Exhausted… even after resting? 🤍
Sometimes during perimenopause + menopause, the nervous system feels like it never fully powers down.
This supported restorative backbend is one of my favorite ways to gently invite the body into rest without forcing anything.
It can help: ✔ soften tension through the chest + shoulders
✔ support deeper breathing
✔ calm an overstimulated nervous system
✔ create space for your body to finally exhale
And the best part?
You don’t have to “do” the pose perfectly.
Wiggle. Adjust. Add support.
Let the props hold you.
Your body is not failing you.
It may just need more support than it used to 🤍
Save this for the days when your body feels heavy.

Busy hands…
quiet minds 🤍
Spent the afternoon at Hampton Apartments
folding paper with a few lovely ladies-
and it turned into something really special.
✔ good for the brain + memory
✔ easy from a chair
✔ beginner-friendly
We made simple origami “fortune tellers"
filled with kind words and positive affirmations.
Lots of smiles.
Lots of memories. 💛
If your community, senior living residence, or group would enjoy something like this,
I’d love to bring a Creative Calm Hour

Heavy legs? Tired body… busy mind? 🤍
This is one of the simplest ways to slow things down
without forcing anything.
Elevating your legs supports circulation
and gives your heart a break,
so your body can actually rest.
✔ calms your nervous system
✔ helps your legs feel lighter
✔ no flexibility or energy needed
I use a version of this all the time-
especially on days when everything feels a little heavy.

My go-to reset after a long day 🤍
This is one of the simplest ways I unwind
✔ eases tension in my back
✔ rests sore legs + throbbing feet
✔ supports my body so I can fully relax
✔ helps my nervous system settle
I do a version of this on my couch most nights…
and I'm usually asleep within minutes 😅

Not ready for a workout yet? 💦
This is one of my favorite ways to ease back into movement - especially if your back feels tight, stiff, or just not 100%.
The water supports your body:
✔ takes pressure off your joints
✔ helps you move without pain
✔ builds strength + confidence gently
A lot of people use this as a bridge between PT and getting back to their usual classes.
