School of Rock is a growing, passionate community dedicated to enriching lives through performance-based music education. With over 450 schools, and a strong internationally recognized brand, School of Rock is the largest after-school music education provider in the world. We put on shows to teach music!
As an Instructor you will be responsible for all music education-related elements within the lessons and rehearsals, creating a dynamic experience to ensure students are challenged and inspired. The Instructor positively embodies rock and roll and is responsible for creating a valuable student experience that helps our students learn music and life skills. Many of our instructors have broader musical talent as well which we do our best to engage. We work with professional musicians who want to supplement their income by picking up teaching hours. The entire organization is made up of working musicians and we make sure we work around your gigging schedules and tour dates. The part-time Instructor creates a safe and cool environment for students to achieve their musical and creative potential and ensures that each School of Rock student has an exceptional musical journey.

Music Instruction:

🎸Maximize the quality of music instruction including private lessons and shows
🎸Ensure students are learning the fundamentals of music, not just songs
🎸Create and document thoughtful lesson plans

Customer Connection:

🎸Communicate regularly with parents on progress of students after lessons
🎸Interact with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible in the school
🎸Pitch in during canceled lessons in the overall ex*****on of the program
🎸Assist in rehearsals and basic maintenance in school
🎸Adheres to the SOR Code of Conduct, safety policies, including the Monitoring and Supervision policy.

Skill Requirements:

🎸3 + years’ experience teaching and/or performing music professionally
🎸Knowledge and experience with rock music, including modern rock and pop guitar styles
🎸Ability to read music notation and chord charts
🎸Ability to instruct using our format and method
🎸Strong organizational and customer relations skills
🎸Resourceful and good problem-solver
🎸Ideal candidate is a working musician who also has formal music school training, but not required
🎸Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor
🎸Passion for teaching all levels of students; kids, teens and adults.
🎸Must pass background check

Construction update! Things are moving along. We are almost finished with all rough construction and are moving on to finishings like paint, lighting, flooring, ceilings, bathrooms etc. Then comes the fun part - instruments!! And we have a lot to put together. It's been an incredibly long journey getting here, from an empty shell with no plumbing, HVAC and electric service to actual lesson and rehearsal rooms, student lounge and lobby. We are excited to open soon and we hope to be open early to mid-May.
Reminder... Our pre-enrollment period is ending soon on April 15th. If you're still on the fence feel free to call the school and we will answer any questions you may have. Don't lose out on the discounts! We will also be at the Stuart Farmers market in Flagler Park on Sunday April 19th from 9:00 to 2:00. CONSTRUCTION AND PRE-ENROLLMENT UPDATE!
Construction update... we have passed 4 inspections and things will be moving along quickly now. Drywall goes up this week. We are looking good for opening in May. We will have a solid grand opening date announced in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
Pre-enrollment update... We already have dozens of pre-enrolled kids and even some adults!!! Pre-enrollment helps us tremendously. Knowing student count helps us staff appropriately and get a solid schedule together BEFORE opening and will allow for a smoother opening week. We are so very grateful for our pre-enrolled students. For this reason we will be extending pre-enrollment until April 15th! This is your chance to secure a spot in our performance-based music education program. We will have a VIP backstage celebration and tour of the school in late April with all of our pre-enrolled kids and families. The School of Rock will be at the Farmers Market again this Sunday February 15th from 9 to 2 in Flagler Park, next to downtown Stuart to answer all of your questions and to pre-enroll. Did you know that every third Sunday of the month the farmers market features a kids vendor section? All goods and products are homemade and handmade by local kids. Come and support our young entrepreneurs! The weather will be perfect, in the upper '70s. Grab a bite from the amazing food vendors and stroll the boardwalk along the river. Live music at 2:00 p.m. at the Rock'n Riverwalk stage by Stonyfools. See you there!

School of Rock Palm City will be at the Farmer's Market this Sunday, Jan 18th from 9-2. Come and see us!
