Registration is now open for the High School Program® of the Loudoun County Chapter of the National League of Junior Cotillions®.

For students in grades 9–12, this program bridges school and the rooms they will soon enter — dating courtesies, interviews, leadership presence, and continued ballroom instruction in an intimate setting reserved for families who value character as much as accomplishment.

Many beautiful belles of Loudoun County are currently waitlisted. We especially encourage young gentlemen to register, as additional young men allow us to welcome more students from the waitlist.

Enrollment is limited. Classes meet at Belmont Country Club in Ashburn, River Creek Club in Leesburg, and the Historic Middleburg Community Center.

Clothes speak before we do — and they speak to us, too.
Researchers at Princeton found that people form judgments of competence from clothing in a fraction of a second. The faces in the study were identical. Only the clothes changed. Viewers still rated the person in the more polished attire as more capable — even when they were told to ignore what the person was wearing.
A separate study showed that a well-tailored suit, compared with a nearly identical off-the-rack one, led strangers to assume greater confidence, success, and earning power. Five seconds was enough.
Dress does not only change how others see us. Psychologists have found that more formal clothing can shift how we think: toward the bigger picture, a steadier sense of presence, and a clearer feeling of being equal to the room we have entered.
This is why we dress for Cotillion.
At the Loudoun County Chapter of the National League of Junior Cotillions®, a jacket, a proper hem, a tucked shirt, and danceable shoes are not about vanity. They are practice for the rooms our students will one day enter — receiving lines, interviews, country clubs, universities, and tables where first impressions last.
We teach children this from day one.
If you are raising a young lady or young gentleman who will be asked to rise to high-level rooms, we would be honored to welcome your family.

If you were invited to a formal ball, would you know what to do? How to carry yourself? Which fork to use? How to dance?

At the Loudoun County Chapter of the National League of Junior Cotillions, we teach children these skills so that when the time comes—they’re ready.

Give your child the gift of confidence knowing they can handle these events with ease. Registration for the 2026-27 season is now open.

These photos from an Army Birthday Ball in Monterey, California, capture the quiet joy of knowing your training has paid off.

You have successfully navigated a head table dining event with ease and grace. You have conversed with the colonel and his lovely bride, and the senior enlisted gentlemen and their lovely brides. Do not forfeit the joy of dedication to these life skills.

Having seen the colonel and his lovely bride open the ball with an impressive swing dance, you later join in with practiced swing moves and enter fully into the spirit of the party.

At the Loudoun County Chapter of the National League of Junior Cotillions®, these skills are taught and practiced so that the future events which will come to pass in everyone’s lives already have the stage set for poise and joy.
