Now that the Board has selected my replacement. I want to thank everyone for your support over the last four years! I have learned over the last four years that’s it’s never wrong to do the right thing. I am going to take this time to enjoy life and spend more time with my family. This is not the end just a new chapter that God has already written for me. With great Love! CT

You have been heard! Staying the course we are on!

McCracken County Public Schools is committed to providing a safe, healthy learning environment for all our students and staff. At this time, we will continue in-person instruction and will keep communicating with the Purchase District Health Department to monitor COVID-19 locally. Families will be informed if there becomes a need to move to hybrid (A/B schedule) or a virtual schedule. All virtual learning is still an option for students.

As a father of two students in the McCracken County School System and as member of the McCracken County School Board I want what’s best for our students.
This summer the Board of Education voted unanimously to accept the Reopening Roadmap to get our students back in school. The board also unanimously gave the authority to Superintendent Steve Carter to do what he felt was the best for our students and staff during this pandemic.
The function of school board is to represent the vision and values of their communities. We were never selected to be educational experts. In that regard, nothing has changed. The board needs to remain focused on representing the community's vision and values at all cost.
I still firmly believe that our students need and must have in person instruction. I also understand that during this time there are students that need to have virtual learning. I still want to let parents have that choice to send their kids to school or keep them at home with virtual.
I just hope people know that we are trying our absolute best, and it’s hard to make a decision that pleases everyone. It just feels like an impossible situation.

I have had the honor and privilege to serve our community as a member of the McCracken County School Board for the last four year. I have met so many outstanding students, staff, parents, and I hope to continue for the next four years to be the voice of our community.

I believe in PUBLIC education. I believe in the traditional PUBLIC education model where government provides a public education to ALL students. It’s not about an agenda, it’s about doing the right thing for students!
