JAG Student, Trinity McDonough, had the opportunity to participate in a Summer Work-Based Learning program at Barkley Regional Airport under Steve Glisson with 3 Degrees Aviation. She is featured in the video attached! We are so proud of her! She represents JAG and MCHS well!

I hardly have the words to describe my first year as the JAG Specialist at MCHS! What. A. Year! I will never forget my first graduating class. Thank you for trusting me and making me proud! We did it! I’ll always be in your corner and cheering you on! Go be GREAT!

On Friday, we welcomed students to class with an extra special visitor, Toby, the standard poodle! His owner, Lynsie Talbert, came to share her entrepreneurial experiences with our students. Lynsie is the owner of Barks n Bubbles as well as Lone Oak Nutrition in Paducah! Thank you for ending our week on a high note! 🐩

We had the BEST day today celebrating our, soon to be, first class of JAG graduates from MCHS!

On Friday, my friend and former colleague, Tammy Hyde, Data and Training Specialist for the West KY Workforce Board spoke to our JAG students about multiple opportunities for assistance with short term training post graduation! Several students who are interested in pursuing their CDL, CNA, Phlebotomy, Lineman, Welding credential, etc. were given all the information necessary to pursue training with no out of pocket expense for courses, books, and associated fees!

Students also received information about on the job training, the WIOA Workforce Program, and Ready for Industry. Appointments are being made with the local Career Center to take advantage of these opportunities!

AND…as a bonus, our principal, Jonathan Smith, popped in to give students instruction on how to tie a bow tie!

It was a fantastic Friday in the MCHS JAG classroom!

We had SO much fun in class today learning how to tie a necktie 3 different ways! With prom, graduation, and job opportunities ahead now was the perfect time! 👔 💃🏽 🕺🏼 🪩 👨‍🎓👩‍🎓
