When Jennifer, our Membership Manager, was asked to choose her favorite QuiltCon quilts, she went colorful, a little silly, and has some lovely comments on why these pieces resonate with her.
River gone green by Paola Machetta from 2023. Jenn says, "I just really love the intense colors and the way the green slices through the pinks in this one."
Blobs by Lucie Belanger from 2025. Jenn says, "These goofy blobs just made me feel happy. Reminded me of the Sesame Street “Yip Yip” Martian characters that I loved as a kid."
Apacheta by Carolina Oneto from 2021. Jenn says, "I love the soft curves and balancing act of these, plus I'm a sucker for the texture of close straight line quilting."
Gegenwind by Nina Lavie from 2025. Jenn says, "This quilt resonated with me. I’m not sure if it was the creator's intent, but I catch myself, like the yellow blobs, robotically moving along in life - and I have to mentally yell “stop” to myself. To take a breath, look around, and be more intentional in living."
Pop by Nikki Woolsey from 2024. Jenn says, "Due to a back issue, I was in too much pain to go down to the quilt floor this year. This quilt was visible from the window in the staff office. It was so happy and cheerful, it made me smile."
Desert Bloom by Annabel Wrigley from 2019. Jenn says, "My first QuiltCon. I’d never seen a quilt like this before and just loved it. Plus the colors 😍!
