About me & my daycare❤️
I've been a mom for 19 years and have spent the last 11 years caring for children in my home. While childcare has become increasingly popular, for me this has never been just a job...it's a calling.
I still approach each day much like I did when I was a stay-at-home mom. We have routines, but not rigid schedules. I believe children thrive when they feel safe, loved, and comfortable. Our days are built around their needs while naturally incorporating learning through play, conversation, books, crafts, outdoor time, and everyday experiences.
With my babies, I focus on age-appropriate developmental milestones and skills month by month while spending the day nurturing, cuddling, singing, talking, and helping them explore the world around them. Their development is important to me, but so is making sure they feel secure, comforted, and deeply loved while they're in my care.
For my older little ones, we work on colors, numbers, letters, shapes, feelings, fine motor skills, creativity, independence, kindness, and confidence, but without losing sight of what childhood should be.
Over the past 11 years, dozens of families have trusted me with their children during some of the most important years of their lives. Many of those families still keep in touch today. I encourage you to read my recommendations and hear directly from some of the families who have become part of my daycare family over the years.
Many years ago, my first daycare babe, gave me the name "TT." Since then, it's become a title that countless sweet little faces have shouted with excitement as they run through my door. It is one of the greatest honors of my life. I will forever cherish the title of TT, and my heart grows a little every time another child chooses to call me by that name.
One of the unexpected blessings of running a home daycare for so many years is how much my own family has become a part of it. My four teenage daughters have grown up alongside many of these little ones and have formed countless special bonds over the years. They celebrate milestones, play games, read books, and love watching new babies grow into big kids. Many daycare children continue talking about my girls long after they've left my care, just as my girls talk about them.
And then there's Mr. Josh. Despite only seeing the kids for a few minutes at the end of most days because of work, he's somehow managed to become a favorite more times than I'd like to admit! He has spent years coaching, volunteering in schools, and pouring into children both inside and outside our home. He absolutely adores kids, and while he's a wonderful husband, being a father has always been the role he's been most proud of. The excitement on a child's face when they hear "Mr. Josh is home!" is something that never gets old. He is a giant teddy bear.
I may not have the fanciest building, the newest marketing, or a corporate curriculum. What I do have is 19 years of motherhood, 11 years of experience, a welcoming and loving home, a heart that genuinely loves children & people, and a commitment to treating every child who walks through my door as someone precious.
At the end of the day, my goal isn't simply to provide childcare, it's to provide a home away from home where children feel safe, loved, seen, valued, and excited to come back each morning.
And if they leave calling me TT, that's just one more blessing I'll carry with me forever. ❤️
