Calling Alabama educators and mentors! 💡

Invention Convention Alabama is helping students turn big ideas into real-world solutions while building STEM skills, creativity and entrepreneurship along the way.

Educators and mentors of students in grades 4–12 are invited to attend a FREE, TEAMS-approved Invention Convention Alabama training this summer. Participation in the program is also free.

Upcoming training dates include:

📍 August 21 | Birmingham
📍 August 22 | Montgomery
📍 August 28 | Troy
📍 September 12 | Tuscaloosa

Through Invention Convention Alabama, students are encouraged to explore challenges from their own experiences, develop original inventions and share their ideas with innovators, business leaders and the public.

🚨ATTENTION REGIONAL EMPLOYERS:

Join us on Wednesday, September 16, at CREATE in Oxford (2-6pm) for a unique hiring event designed to connect employers with the next generation of talent and experienced job seekers—all in one location. The day will kick off with a CREATE student job fair, allowing employers to engage with students exploring career pathways. Then transition into a regional hiring event, bringing together job seekers and workforce partners from across the region.

Whether you are hiring or building your future talent pipeline, this event offers an excellent opportunity to showcase your company, set up onsite at CREATE, promote career opportunities, and connect with a diverse pool of candidates.

CREATE continues to grow, expanding opportunities for students across our region to access high-demand career pathways, hands-on learning, and experiences that connect education directly to the workforce.

This morning we welcomed 19 CREATE staff members to begin our THIRD year of operations!

EIGHT school systems will be sending their students this year for the opportunity to take high-wage, high-demand career tech pathways not offered at their home school.

We had 7 adults on campus when we opened our doors for year 1 in August 2024.

We are doing it, building it, pushing limits, and closing the gap between students and their future careers in ways that have never happened.
New pathways for this year will be Aviation and Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics.

To CREATE something that you’ve never had, you must be willing to do something that you’ve never done. Every individual in this picture has committed to just that.✅

🚀 SparkSTEM Discovery Day | Randolph County

On July 21, the CREATE STEM Learning Network partnered with Randolph Roanoke Career Technology Center to host SparkSTEM Discovery Day for students, providing a day of hands-on STEM learning and career exploration.

Throughout the day, students rotated through interactive STEM experiences led by local business and industry professionals, discovering how science, technology, engineering, and mathematics are applied in real-world careers. From construction and energy to agriculture, higher education, and automotive technology, students engaged in hands-on activities, asked questions, and learned directly from the professionals who power our local workforce.

🚀 SparkSTEM Discovery Day | Oxford

On July 16, the CREATE STEM Learning Network welcomed students to the Create Technology and Innovation Center in Oxford for a day of hands-on STEM learning and career exploration.

Throughout the day, students rotated through interactive experiences led by local business and industry professionals, discovering how science, technology, engineering, and mathematics are used to solve real-world problems. From manufacturing and transportation to healthcare, utilities, public safety, and skilled trades, students explored exciting career opportunities while engaging in hands-on activities and conversations with professionals.

🚀 SparkSTEM Discovery Days Inspired Nearly 200 Students Across Our Region! 🚀

This summer, the CREATE STEM Learning Network hosted three SparkSTEM Discovery Day events across East Alabama, providing nearly 200 students with hands-on opportunities to explore STEM careers, meet local industry professionals, and discover how classroom learning connects to the real world.

Our first stop was Cherokee County...

On June 11, students from across Cherokee County gathered at Centre Elementary School for SparkSTEM Discovery Day, hosted by the CREATE STEM Learning Network in partnership with So Cool Summer Camp.

Throughout the day, students rotated through interactive STEM experiences led by local business and industry professionals, exploring how science, technology, engineering, and mathematics are used in careers throughout our region. From healthcare and manufacturing to finance, entrepreneurship, engineering, and health and wellness, students gained firsthand experience while asking questions, solving challenges, and making connections with professionals.
