Congratulations Dr. Huey !

EDL is proud to announce that Malaika Huey has completed her requirements for the Ed.D in Educational Leadership! Her dissertation study is entitled, "Left without a Map: How African-American Families of Students with Disabilities Navigate Urban School Restructuring and Why They Leave."

The study presents a rich analysis of how urban school restructuring processes are experienced by African American families whose children have individualized education plans. The dissertation presents rich recommendations for those leading consolidation and restructuring efforts in the future.

Thanks to committee members Michael Evans, Sherrill Sellers, and Kathleen Knight-Abowitz (chair).

Congrats, Malaika, on all your hard work!
