On October 1, we hosted our first-ever Bobcat Family Day, a schoolwide assembly designed to celebrate student achievement, strengthen our school community, and reinforce what it means to be a Bobcat. During the event, students recognized our September Students of the Month, participated in grade-level challenges, and learned more about the results of our recent school climate survey. Together, we celebrated our strengths as a school while discussing ways we can continue to grow, particularly in showing respect for one another and making learning more engaging and meaningful.

A special thank you goes to the members of our Principal's Advisory Team, who helped organize the event, seat students, and serve as hosts throughout the assembly. Their leadership helped make this inaugural Bobcat Family Day a wonderful success. We look forward to continuing this monthly tradition as we celebrate our students, build community, and work together to make Northern an even better place to learn and grow.

**🎉 Congratulations, Mrs. Lynsie Curtis! 🎉**

We are proud to celebrate Mrs. Lynsie Curtis, who will represent Calvert County as the 2026–2027 SMECO Middle School Mathematics Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award recipient!

Mrs. Curtis is an exceptional educator whose passion for mathematics, commitment to student success, and dedication to supporting her colleagues make a lasting impact every day. We are incredibly fortunate to have her as both a teacher and our Professional Learning Coordinator at Northern Middle School.

In true Mrs. Curtis fashion, she learned of her nomination while leading and facilitating our staff’s very first Bobcat Showcase—a reflection of the leadership, collaboration, and excellence she brings to our school community.

Congratulations, Mrs. Curtis, on this well-deserved honor! Your Northern Middle Bobcat family is proud of you and grateful for all you do. 🐾

We're excited to kick off our NMS Mega-Raiser Fundraising Drive! This is a simple donation-based fundraiser with no selling products and no deliveries, making it an easy way for families and supporters to help our school. The steps are simple:

Scan the QR code on the fundraiser flyer
Enter your student's name
Donate and share with family and friends
Every donation helps support opportunities and experiences for Northern Middle School students. We plan to use this money to provide yard games for our new courtyard, build our new Broadcasting studio, and add Northern Middle décor to our new building. Students can also earn exciting rewards and Mega Party incentives while working toward our school-wide fundraising goal.

Fundraiser Ends: October 6.

Help us spread the word by sharing your student's fundraising link with grandparents, relatives, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. Together, we can make a big impact for our Bobcats! 🐾🐾🐾
