I’ve got a question for you today…and I actually want you to answer it.

What is ONE thing you wish you would have started 10 years ago?

Taking care of your health?
Lifting weights?
Saving money?
Traveling more?
Setting boundaries?
Reading your Bible?
Saying NO without feeling guilty?
Saying YES to things that scared you?

Here’s the catch…

Whatever your answer is, what’s stopping you from starting TODAY?

We are really good at saying, “I wish I would have…” but someday, 10 years from now, we’re going to be looking back at the person we are right now.

Maybe today is the day you quit waiting for the perfect time.

God gave you TODAY. Use it. ❤️

Now tell me yours 👇
What do you wish you would have started 10 years ago?

It is my prayer that someday we all learn to see ourselves the way the people who love us see us. Better yet, that we learn to see ourselves the way Jesus sees us.

Think about how you look at your friends. You see their strengths. You see their heart. You see how hard they’re trying. You remind them of how far they’ve come. You encourage them when they’re struggling.

So why in the world do we talk to ourselves differently?

Unless you’re one of those keyboard warriors hiding behind a screen, chances are you wouldn’t look at your friend and say, “You look terrible today. You’re not good enough. You’ve gained weight. You’re failing. Everyone else is doing better than you.”

But somehow we think it’s okay to say those things to ourselves.

No more negative self-talk!

What if we started giving ourselves the same grace we give everyone else? What if instead of immediately finding the flaws, we looked for the good? What if we remembered that the person staring back at us in the mirror is also someone God created, loves and has a purpose for?

Jesus doesn’t look at us and see a number on a scale, wrinkles, mistakes, failures or all the things we wish we could change.

He sees His child.

My prayer is that we learn to see that person too. And while we’re at it, that we continue looking for the very best in each other.

See yourself like you see your friends.
See your friends like Jesus sees them.
And maybe give that person in the mirror a little more grace today.

Something exciting is coming from Live Intentionally… and this one is for the WOMEN. 🙌

Somewhere along the way, we got really good at staying inside the lines.

Do what’s expected.
Be responsible.
Take care of everyone else.
Stick to the plan.
Don’t make a mess.

But what if it’s time to color outside the lines a little?

Actually… heck with it.

Scribble all over the paper. 😂

Try something new. Go somewhere you’ve never been. Hike the trail. Get your hands dirty. Laugh too loud. Meet new people. Do something that makes you a little nervous. Spend some time with God. Challenge yourself. Rest when you need to. And maybe remember there’s still a whole lot of YOU in there besides all the titles you carry every day.

I’ve been working on some pretty exciting options for women through Live Intentionally, and they aren’t going to look like your typical “women’s retreat.”

Think adventure, faith, fitness, friendship, laughter, challenges, downtime and probably a few things that make you say, “I can’t believe I just did that.”

Different options. Different levels of adventure. Different ways to get outside your normal routine.

You don’t have to be super fit.
You don’t have to be outdoorsy.
You don’t have to bring a group of friends.

You just have to be willing to show up and color outside the lines.

More details are coming soon.

Until then… sharpen the crayons.

Or don’t.

We might just scribble. ❤️

"I eat healthy all week... but I like to have a few drinks on the weekend."

I hear this all the time. Here's what most people don't realize...
When you drink alcohol, your body doesn't stop burning calories, it stops prioritizing fat burning. Your body sees alcohol as toxic, something it needs to get rid of first. So while it's busy processing those drinks, burning fat gets pushed to the back burner.

Now add in what usually comes with drinking...

Late-night pizza, fried foods, "I deserve it" snacks, poor sleep, or skipped workouts the next day. It's not just the calories from the alcohol, it's the chain reaction that follows.

As we get older—especially during perimenopause and menopause—our hormones are already changing. We naturally lose muscle if we aren't working to keep it, our recovery isn't as quick, and our bodies don't bounce back like they did in our 20s.

That means those Friday and Saturday night drinks can easily erase the calorie deficit and healthy habits you've worked so hard to build during the week.

Hear me out, I'm not saying you can never have a drink! I'm saying if your goal is to lose body fat, build muscle, or improve your health, you need to understand that alcohol has a cost. Sometimes that cost is worth it for a special occasion but sometimes it isn't.

The key is making the choice on purpose instead of wondering why you're doing "everything right" but not seeing the results you want.

Your body is always keeping score—even when you're not.

Ladies... I have a challenge for you. This weekend, clean out your closet.

Not because it's messy but because some of those clothes have been bullying you for years.

You know exactly what I'm talking about...

The jeans you haven't fit into in 10 years.
The dress you're "saving" for when you lose 20 pounds.
The shirt you keep because, "Maybe someday..."

Nope, it's time to get rid of it!

That version of you served her purpose. She got you to where you are today, but you are not her anymore. Your body has carried babies, survived heartbreak, built careers, gone through perimenopause, menopause, surgeries, stress, victories, and everything in between.

Why are you punishing her because she doesn't look like she did at 25?

Your closet should make you smile when you open it—not remind you of someone you're no longer trying to be.

Keep the clothes that fit the woman you are today. The woman who's getting stronger. Wiser. More confident. More intentional.

And if the thought of doing it alone feels overwhelming, call a friend. Grab a smoothie, turn on some music, and make a day of it. Then next weekend, go help her do the same.

Sometimes loving yourself starts with something as simple as letting go of clothes that no longer fit your life.

It's time to stop dressing for your past and start celebrating the woman you've become. ❤️

Ladies... can we stop blaming ourselves every time our midsection starts changing? One of the biggest mistakes I see women make when they hit perimenopause or menopause is eating less because they think that's the answer.

"I'll just skip breakfast."
"I'll eat a salad."
"I'll cut my carbs."
"I'll stay under 1,200 calories."

Then they wonder why they're exhausted, losing muscle, craving everything in sight, and still watching their belly change.

Here's the thing... Our hormones are changing. Our bodies are under more stress than they were in our 20s and 30s. If you respond by giving your body less fuel, you're making it harder to hold onto the very thing that helps keep your metabolism healthy—muscle.

Muscle is your friend!! It helps you stay strong, supports your metabolism, improves insulin sensitivity, and helps you keep doing the things you love as you get older.

Instead of asking, "How little can I eat?" start asking, "Am I giving my body what it needs?"

✔ Enough protein.
✔Quality carbohydrates to fuel your workouts and your brain.
✔ Healthy fats to support hormone health.
✔ Strength training to tell your body to keep that muscle.

Will your body composition change as hormones change? Absolutely, but starving yourself isn't the answer. Start nourishing your body instead of punishing it.

Not only have I've coached women through this stage of life, I have also gone through it! When we stop chasing the smallest number on the scale and start focusing on building a stronger, healthier body, that's when things really begin to change.

Your body isn't working against you. It's asking you to take care of it differently than you did 20 years ago. ❤️

Let's talk about "empty carbs"...

Carbs aren't the enemy. Your body actually needs them.

The problem isn't carbs—it's where you're getting them from.

Foods like chips, cookies, soda, candy, and pastries are considered "empty carbs" because they give you calories without giving your body much else. They don't offer much protein, fiber, vitamins, or minerals, so they usually leave you hungry again before long.

Have you ever eaten a couple of donuts for breakfast and found yourself starving a few hours later? That's a perfect example.

Now compare that to oatmeal, fruit, potatoes, rice, or sweet potatoes. Those foods provide carbohydrates too, but they also give your body nutrients and longer-lasting energy to get through your day.

Does that mean you can never enjoy a cookie or a piece of cake? Of course not. Life is meant to be enjoyed.

The goal is to make the foods that fuel your body the majority of what you eat and save the treats for just that...treats.

Small choices made consistently will always beat a perfect diet that only lasts a week.
