Why trial and error in placement and trap positioning is key to mosquito control 💯
As shares in this video, getting results wasn’t about just setting the trap down and hoping for the best— it took a bit of experimenting. He started in one spot, paid attention to what was happening, and then adjusted. That’s because mosquitoes aren’t evenly spread across your yard. They cluster in specific areas— usually where it’s shaded, humid and protected— and if your trap isn’t in that zone, it won’t nearly be as effective.
What Cory found (and what we see all the time) is that small changes, like moving the trap a few feet, can make a huge difference. So if your first placement isn’t delivering, that doesn’t mean the trap isn’t working— it just means you haven’t found the sweet spot yet.
The takeaway? Pay attention, make adjustments, and use what you’re seeing- just like Cory did, and what he’s about to do this season with a second Mosquitaire and Gravid Aedes Traps (G*Ts).
Once the trap is in the right place, that’s when everything starts to work like magic.
