Dream A Latte is a license seller of Dreamers Coffee Blend, and will employee individuals with intellectual disabilities to sell and gain work experience

For many individuals diagnosed with “disabilities” society sometimes forgets the innumerable abilities they also possess and that everyone has dreams to fulfill and goals to achieve, they are no different. Dream a Latte’ will provide, not only an opportunity for success to its distributors but also a high quality product that encourages all of us to dream, and not just a little, but a Latte’! Loca

l business owner and entrepreneur, Amanda Owen, has a dream to bring that concept here, to Kentucky and give everyone the opportunity to have dreams come true through hard work and dedication. The Dream A Latte’ concept is to operate as a business that employees sellers of the Dreamer’s Coffee, paid at an hourly wage, who are individuals with disabilities, pitch and sell to businesses, individuals, and other venues willing to support. The sellers would be paid an hourly wage to go vend the high-end coffee, known nationally as Dreamer’s Coffee. We hope to market the coffee for a year to build cliental and sales to then hopefully have enough sales and demand to open a coffee shop to employee those with special needs. Employees will be trained, through hands-on experience, by working in a business related environment. Owner, Amanda Owen, will use her education, experience, and knowledge to train employees to be self-advocates, understand their strengths, break down skills to do repetitive teaching for them to understand and build on those skills

Dream a Latte’ will also be bringing something extra to our community. Awareness! Showing that people with special needs have dreams, goals, and aspirations that when met can make a difference in all those around them. Becoming an employee of Dream a Latte’ is more than a paycheck. It is about building a life that is surrounded with purpose and people who “need” you, all which each person desires. The seller’s experience with Dream A Latte’ builds a foundation of skills designed to make bigger dreams happen not only for those individuals, but for our community as a whole. Today our very first Latte Party hosted by Matthew Cook was a HUGE success. Thank you to everyone who came and sampled Dreamers Coffee. It isn't too late to make a special order and get before Christmas, just tell us by tomorrow. Matthew was amazing and so proud of himself. He loved every minute and we got a lot of job training skills in from couting money, talking to customers, pouring samples, bagging purchases. ...we both loved it. Here's to many more.
