UPAC Dance Company

Intensives start tomorrow morning 9am!!!!cant wait to see the dancers. We are starting exactly at 9 am so PLEASE if you are paying your summer intensive and booster fees get there a little early. Please print out the paperwork and sign it. Tomorrow’s action packed day has a teen jazz and Sr MT audition and classes in Acting, Contemporary and Jazz.
Lunch is from 12:30-1
Classes will be over at 4

Cruise rehearsal will follow from 4-5

There are some new policies we are putting into place again(we used to have these)
On solos duos trios and specialty . Scheduling rehearsals have gotten out of hand the last couple of years. We Will discuss with the dancers tomorrow and why?

Happy Belated Mothers Day to all my wonderful Moms. I couldn’t imagine my life without all y’all, because I couldn’t imagine my life with out your children.

There will be classes today Friday 9/30. If you can’t make it we understand your safety is our priority but if you can we would love to see the students.

Today is the day 1 of our 1st intensive. I can’t wait to see everyone. It seems like it’s been so long but only a little over a week. Looking forward to seeing what new we have in store for you next year!!!
Congratulations on last weekends competition. Y’all were awesome and represented unbelievably . We only brought 1 group # and it was the top score Sr/Tn small group for the entire weekend plus so many in the overalls. So proud of everyone who competed.

UPAC faculty and staff

The health, safety, and well-being of students, parents and faculty is our top priority. We are committed to providing a clean and healthy environment and have implemented enhanced cleaning protocols in the studio with particular focus on high traffic and high contact areas. When we resume classes, we will continue to clean studio floors and mats daily. Ballet barres, doorknobs, and light switches as well as other high contact areas will be addressed multiple times during our operating hours as done the week prior to spring break.

During these times of uncertainty, we are carefully following the experts and will decide on when to resume classes. When classes resume, to protect yourself and others, we ask that everyone that is not feeling well or have possibly been exposed to the COVID-19 virus to please refrain from entering the facility so that together we can ensure a healthy environment. Be assured that students and employees will not be penalized for missing classes.

* Please refrain from entering the studio if you are ill or have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus less than 14 days prior.

We encourage everyone to practice safe hygiene to help prevent the spread of the illness:
* Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after using the bathroom, before and after eating, after blowing your nose, and after coughing or sneezing. * If soap and water are not available, please use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
* Avoid physical contact with others, especially those who are ill or known to have been exposed. This includes handshakes, high-fives, fist bumps, hugs, etc.
* Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
* Cover your sneeze or cough with a tissue, discard immediately afterwards, then wash your hands.
* If you are sick, stay home and avoid contact with others.
* Don’t share water bottles, eating utensils, electronic devices, AirPods, smart phones, etc.

We will are planning to reopen on Monday, March 30th with make-up classes taking place the week between recital rehearsal and recital; Monday, May 11th – Saturday, May 16th. Online classes may be an option. If this does not work out and we must stay closed until April 13th, we will make up classes through May 30th. Hopefully we will still be able to have the recital on May 16th. If this is not possible, we will consider other options.

Thank you to all the company dancers that participated in the UPAC Annual Recital. It was a long day but we did it. I appreciate all the dancers that danced so hard in all 3 shows and the Co. Parents that help out will all the vending, flowers and props. Y’all are the real stars of the day. A special shout out to Susan Boone that spent the entire day with all the little ones in that hot band room. I will always be grateful for all you do for the me and the company.
