The meeting helped all members re-confirm their Mission, “To create, promote, and maintain health and wellness in all first responders through training events.” To also re-confirm their Vision, “To assist department leaders, friends and families of first responders in recognizing the signs and symptoms to prevent first responder su***de.”
📢 Also at this Summit Meeting, Protecting The Guardian inducted Dan Ortiz as its newest Board Member.
Dan currently works as a Detective with the East Hartford Police Department, CT. He has been volunteering with PTG as an Ambassador since December of 2025.
In July of this year, Dan met his goal of becoming a Certified QPR instructor. Dan says, “Teaching mental wellness strategies to combat these effects will enable officers to become more confident employees in their department.” He also believes it will create a more purposeful relationship with their family members throughout their home life.
