Congratulations to Kyle Chew. Kyle graduated in summer 2025 and wanted to remain within his state for whatever employment he selected. His perseverance paid off.
Kyle started a conductor position with Eastern Idaho Railroad out of Rupert, ID, as of yesterday.
We always tell our students that we routinely see two different types of students goals. One student may not care where they go or who they work for, they just want to railroad. Another student may only want to work for a specific railroad or out of a specific location. Obviously, the latter has a propensity to have to wait until those positions become available.
Kyle stayed the course within his goals and now he is working only a few hours from his home.
We hope the best for you Kyle, and stay safe out there

Another success story. Mark Butler just finished up the program a couple weeks ago. He has been offered a conductor position with BNSF and will work out of Kansas City.
He starts his training on 27 May. This offer stems from the interviews that the BNSF offers at the end of all NARS classes, provided the student meets specific criteria in the class plus meeting the basic criteria for a qualified applicant with BNSF.
Congratulations Mark on a job well done. Stay safe out there and keep in touch.

Eric Ingram is back in town. This time, under a new title; New Hire Conductor.
Eric completed the NARS conductor program in the summer of last year, and has started conductor training in Overland Park with the BNSF as of 27 April. He will be working out of Grand Forks, ND.
Eric was a joy to have in the program. His inquisitive nature will serve him well during his training period.
Eric, congratulations for seeing your goals through to a reality.
