Last night we finished our Project FUNway: Time Travel class!

These super students...

chose and researched a time and place in the past,

calculated the distance/time between then and now down to inches and seconds,

created a timeline of historical events that have happened between then and now,

built a time machine prototype,

experimented with their perception of time,

discovered the Grandfather Paradox, worm holes and more relevant vocabulary,

wrote about their time travel experience including famous people they spoke to on the way back to the present,

created a time capsule with current events for future generations to learn from,

drew what vehicles, homes and people might look like in the future

and, of course, discussed the ethics behind time travel along with their concerns and hopes for the future. They brainstormed how they can contribute to the future generations in healthy and positive ways.

Love this visual!

Science + Math = Geography challenge

Modern maps tend to distort the size of continents in order to accommodate flat paper vs spherical planet. This is an excellent visual for just how BIG the African continent is.

Can you think of other comparisons that could convey the size of a land mass to a child?
