The kids always request to go for their cookies and ice cream, and I love the cafe lattes, gift shop, and books!

The other morning while outside with Marie watching the sun rise, I tried to move a board left over from the construction going on. I was doing it one-handed while holding Marie, and I ended up having to put her down so that I could use both hands. I couldn’t believe that I had lost so much strength that I couldn’t do what I felt I should be able to do. I had imagined that I was maintaining with an active lifestyle even if I wasn’t exercising regularly.

I decided right then that I’d go back into the house and do a strength workout.

It’s been a really long time since this has happened, but I just did three days in a row of getting in a workout! 👏

And surprisingly, I feel super energized today! I mean, I shouldn’t be surprised because that’s what I had always shared about the benefits of exercise and one of the reasons I loved it. It has been so long since I’ve felt this good!

So if you’ve been away from regular exercise and are finding it hard to get back in, I’d love for you to shoot for 3 days in a row. Those first two days felt a little rough, but by the third day you’ll feel great.

We all have different reasons for the motivation to exercise, but for me, being strong enough to do daily living with my kiddos was the catalyst for me to jump back in this week. I hope you focus on what moves you to feel your best. ❤️

A moment captured when I’m in the present, not worrying about what needs to be done.

An email by one of my favorite authors/writers/inspirations really hit me today.

Moms wear so many hats and we have a million things racing through our head that have to be crossed off like a finish line before the end of the day.

How dare my beloved humans not comply with my to do list. 😳

Her email was a reminder that it happens, it’s human, but I get to choose how to react or move forward.

The longer I’ve been silent over here, the harder it was to get back to it.
That’s how it is with most things in life though, right?

Absence from a person may make the heart grow fonder, but absence in settings can grow unfounded fears.

Like most things though l, I just had to jump right in. Not worry about the perfect picture to show back up in. Not fixate on a brilliant message aimed to inspire others.

Just show up.

So here are some goofy pictures mixed in with our memorable boat ride last week. Nothing earth-shattering. 😉

I’m over here doing all the mom things with a side of business, wondering how I ever carved out time to share on social media before. 😉

But just like the full month of workouts I added back in💪, it all just depends on your priorities.

✨So if it’s been a long time since you’ve done *something* just go for it.

✨If you’re worried about perfection, aim for getting it done.

✨And if you realllly want to do something, consciously shift your focus to make it happen.

I’ve missed chatting with you! Here’s to being more present, but holding space for other priorities in this positive, fit life. ❤️

1 year photos - Smash Cake - Baby in a Tub

First year pictures were the cutest ever! Marie took such a short little bit to warm up to photographer Megan and then was all smiles.
She was the daintiest little “smasher” of her first ever cake, and only swiped one flower, so we could eat the cake together at home with cousins. ☺️

She LOVED the bath as that is one of her favorite things right now. The flowers in it were added fun. 😍

She had the best birthday a one-year-old could ask for and now these photos to document it. Why didn’t I do this with the other kids?!

I can’t recommend Under the Willow Photography enough!
