The Ophthalmology Interest Group and History of Medicine Interest Group are pleased to welcome Dr. Shaikh for a journey through the history of Ophthalmology! Dr. Shaikh is a retina specialist who received his degree from UC Davis School of Medicine, and completed his residency at Stanford University. He currently practices at the Lake Nona VA.
Please join us today at 12pm in room 104 if you are interested in learning about how the field of Ophthalmology evolved to where it is today! Lunch will be provided.

The Ophthalmology Interest Group will be holding our first general meeting Monday, 11/20 at 12pm! We are excited to host Dr. Mehul Patel! Dr. Patel is the attending Ophthalmologist and a Cataract and Glaucoma Surgery Specialist at UCF Health Clinic. He is a valuable resource for anybody pursuing a career in Ophthalmology. Join us to hear his insights on the specialty and learn what it takes to be an Ophthalmologist! Publix lunch will be provided.

We are looking for 1 more volunteer next Tuesday (5/23) for a vision screening event at Lake Nona High School from 6-8pm. We will be having students read eye charts and checking pupils as part of their sports physical.

The Military Medicine Interest Group and Ophthalmology Interest Group are hosting Dr. Stan Hand, pediatric ophthalmologist and former Air Force flight surgeon this Friday, Dec 9 at 12:00 in room 116. Many of you know Dr. Hand from a KNIGHTS clinic and he loves to teach and talk to students. Lunch will be provided.

The Ophthalmology Interest Group(OIG) is hosting our first general meeting next Tuesday, November 22nd at 12 pm with our very own ophthalmologist, Dr. Saad Shaikh!
Dr. Shaikh is a retina specialist who received his degree from UC Davis School of Medicine, and completed his residency at Stanford University. He currently practices at the Lake Nona VA, and was the developer of the ongoing retinal screenings conducted at the Grace Medical Home. Dr. Shaikh has some excellent insight on the field of Ophthalmology, research, and is a great source to help make your Ophthalmology ambitions come true! :)
