Empowering families to fight for their child’s rights.

Built by a mom who knows the system — and refused to accept less. Visit IEPApproved.com Since the birth of my son life has had many ups, downs & curves. My own personal way of coping with our ever changing course was to keep a journal & keep looking for the upside to everything. While journaling started as a personal journey for me I took one of my entries public after an awkward exchange with an

We are so grateful to the Orlando Magic for providing such an incredible experience! We attended a game toward the end of the season, and they truly did not disappoint.
Robbie initially struggled with our seat location; being seated so high up was very difficult given his hip, but the staff was absolutely amazing. They went above and beyond to accommodate him by finding a spot he could safely access. They even provided us with sensory bags to ensure he felt comfortable throughout the game.
Thank you to the entire organization for your kindness and for making the game accessible and fun for everyone. And a huge thank you to Grandma and Grandad for the tickets—we made such special memories! 🏀✨

From hospital recovery to thriving on the bus—Robbie’s journey is a reminder that every child deserves the right tools to reach their potential. 🚌💙

A common question I get is: “What’s the difference between an IEP and a 504 plan?”

Think of it this way:

• IEP (Individualized Education Program): Designed for students who need specialized instruction to meet their academic goals. Robbie’s busing and other vital services are built right into his IEP.

• 504 Plan: Designed to remove barriers in the general education setting. It’s for students who don't necessarily need modified instruction, but do need accommodations (like mobility support, health plans, or extra time) to have equal access to learning.

These aren't just "special needs" labels—they are civil rights protections that ensure your child can show up and succeed. Don't be afraid to ask for what your child needs to thrive!

Folding towels might look like a simple chore, but for Robbie, it’s a major milestone.
Robbie has been working hard in PT, OT, and speech therapy since he was just six weeks old. Seeing him tackle laundry is a reminder of how far he has come. We are so incredibly grateful for the Head Start program and the life-changing protections provided by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Progress is made in small steps, and we are so proud of his dedication to mastering both fine and gross motor skills. Plus, I have to admit—it’s pretty great having such a capable helper with the laundry! 🧺💙
