We had two excellent Belt Tests in April - one for our lower ranks and one for our Advanced ranks. Our OMMA leaders were very pleased to see the effort, perseverance, martial arts skill and engagement in the required spiritual disciplines - proud of you all!
Photos of the lower rank test here - the next post will have the pics of the higher rank test.

We just completed our 19th annual Blessing Bags project with 440 completed bags, praise God!
Thank you to all who joined us at the Alafaya Village dojo to pack bags, write notes and enjoy one another’s company- it was great to see you all there. Grateful for your service!
I am also grateful to those who donated financially and purchased items to help us make this many Blessing Bags - thank you as well!
Finally, thank You Jesus for allowing us the dignity of being a part of Your work and the opportunity to take some of what we are blessed with (time, talent, treasure) and be a blessing to others around us. Thank You for showing us the true meaning of love, service and sacrifice! ✝️
Please pray that each bag is a representation of the love Jesus has for each recipient and strengthen Pastor Skip and his team as they hand them out in the days to come. 🙏🏼

Almost time for our annual Blessing Bags Project- the calm before the storm!
Sensei Karen and David’s grandkids helping load snack bag items into the vehicle.
An empty room waiting to be filled very soon with tables, donated items and people packing bags, fellowshipping together and serving Him by serving the less fortunate! 🙏🏼✝️
Thank you to all who have participated so far with your prayers and giving!
I hope to see many of you here at the dojo soon!
May we make much of Jesus today! (1 Cor. 10:31)

OMMA Family,
ONLY TWO DAYS until our Blessing Bags Project!
I am excited to serve with those who will be coming this weekend...we are trusting the Lord to provide so we can hit our goals and maybe exceed them this Saturday, May 2nd, from 10:00AM - 1:00PM at the Alafaya Village dojo!
THANK YOU to all who have donated items for the homeless snack packs thus far, as well as those who made financial contributions to support this project - may the Lord bless you in a special way for being a blessing to others!
If you are able to provide any of the needed items you can bring them to the dojo the next two days where we’ll store and inventory them until Saturday. You can also bring them to the project on Saturday.
We have set up a running online inventory of the items we’ve received and what we still need. Check it out at the link below to see what our greatest needs are.
https://onmissionmartialarts.com/events/service-projects/bags-of-blessings
Some of you may not have time to pick up some items (or are not in the area) but perhaps would like to give a donation to help us purchase some of these needed items.
If you'd like to make a tax-deductible contribution to the project, we will allocate 100% of your donation to items needed for the Project and do the shopping for you. 🙂
You can give a secure, online donation at the above Project Inventory link.
This year will mark our 19th consecutive year of at least 2 OMMA Group Service Projects - glory to God!
Remember to invite your family and friends to join us – these projects are open to everyone of all ages!
Have a blessed day!
Marco

Hey OMMA Family—our new website just recently went live:
https://onmissionmartialarts.com/
We built this to make it easier than ever to:
• Start training (in-person or online)
• Grow as a student
• Step into leadership
• Support the mission
This is a big step forward in reaching more people with Christ-centered martial arts.
By God’s grace, we know that “unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain” (Psalm 127:1).
Please take a minute to check it out—and if someone comes to mind who could benefit, send it their way.
Grateful for each of you.
– Sensei Marco
P.S. – Our Student Resources online portal will remain the same for now. Updates to that area coming in "Phase 2".

EVERY ITEM MATTERS. EVERY PERSON MATTERS.
Blessing Bags for the Homeless - May 2026
These photos show why this project matters.
When Pastor Skip hands out Blessing Bags, he is doing more than giving away food. He is showing practical love, real compassion, and a reminder that people are not forgotten.
On May 2nd, OMMA will come together to pack Blessing Bags for people in need in our community. Our minimum goal is 500 bags, but right now we are behind on collections.
“Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” – Philippians 2:4
Each bag includes one of each of the following:
• Package of cheese crackers (6 count, like Austin brand)
• Mixed fruit cup or applesauce packet
• Chewy granola bar (no coating, since it melts)
• Small can of Vienna sausages with pop-top
• Package of peanut butter crackers
• Chocolate pudding cup
• Tuna fish easy-open pouch
• Juice pouch drink
• Plastic spoon
• Handwritten note that says, “God Bless You”
If you are in a position to help, even a small donation makes a big difference. A few items can help us complete several more bags and reach more people with practical care and Christlike compassion.
For details on the project, including our current inventory, remaining needs, or to make a financial donation (100% of which is used to buy items for this project), visit the project page here:
https://onmissionmartialarts.com/spring-project/
Every bag matters. Every donation matters. Every person matters.
If you would like to help us reach our goal of 500 Blessing Bags, now is a great time to jump in!
Thank you for your prayerful consideration!
Marco

The dojos are closed today and tomorrow to honor this holy weekend.
——————————————————
Good Friday reminds us that the cross was not the end of the story.
Jesus did not say, “I am finished.” He said, “It is finished.”
The price for our sin was paid. The sacrifice was complete. The victory was won.
What looked like defeat on Friday was actually the beginning of the greatest victory in history.
“Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows...” — Isaiah 53:4
Today we pause to remember the incredible love, sacrifice, and mercy of Jesus. And we do so with gratitude, knowing that Sunday is coming.
Thankful to Jesus...and thankful for you. ✝️
