The Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Kick Off Event was fabulous! Many talented musicians showed up to help us promote summer reading!

5th Grade Fun Day was a blast. The teachers might have enjoyed surprise water balooning the kids a bit too much ;-)

Dear Parents,

Please take three to five minutes to complete the brief 11 question Parent Engagement Survey. Responses are anonymous. Your feedback will provide OCPS with valuable information to enhance and strengthen parent-school partnerships. Cypress Springs Elementary School will be a host site for the “Virtual Parent Academy” next Thursday, 5/18, from 6- 7 pm. It will be held in the media center, and the focus is Preventing Summer Slide. Please send information home electronically, encouraging families to come in and get ideas to keep their students at the top of their game this summer break. Per the Virtual Parent Academy website:

This event will provide you with tools and activities that will help you and your child successfully navigate their time off this summer and provide a bridge for back to school success. You are invited to participate in a virtual OCPS Parent Academy session through Safari Montage Live from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Student Showcase Night at Azalea Park Elementary! Music, Art, Physical Education & Gifted Enrichment.... we've got it all! Mr. Wunder, Coach LaMarca, Mrs. Alicea, Mr. Valentin, and Orange County Public Schools Rock!

The 5th grade played a fun game of Science 'Fear Factor' against their teachers on Friday. They are ready to ace the Science Test on Monday!

So excited to have a Wrestlemania First Book Challenge winner on our campus! Timothy Gately, the top reader from our K-2 classrooms, won all sorts of cool gear AND a Wrestlemania Champion Belt today. East Area Superintendent Dr. Diaz and Principal Maldonado awarded the prizes live on our morning announcements. Thank you to WWE , Wrestlemania , and First Book for making one 2nd grade student's day!
