Students were tasked with researching a tiny animal of their choice, then designing, building and decorating a house for that animal. The projects were judged on their use of pre-used objects, creativity, aesthetics, functionality and environmental impact/benefits.
There are three Best of Show winners, plus four awards in each age group. Awesome Artisan = most functional piece, Mad Scientist = most transformative use of objects, Amazing Artist = most artistic piece, and Guardian of the Planet = most environmentally friendly. The three projects that scored the most overall in all categories were awarded Best of Show.
We’ve received some AMAZING submissions for SmART this year! Come check them out this Saturday from 10:00 to 5:00 at Central Florida Earth Day at Lake Eola park. The awards ceremony is at 4:00. SmART Central is located on the Eastern edge of Lake Eola Park along N. Eola Drive, just North of the playground and restrooms.
