Fracture

Displaced /Non-Displaced Fracture
A displaced fracture occurs when the bone snaps into two or more pieces and moves so that the two ends are not aligned
A non-displaced fracture occurs when a bone cracks partially or completely through but maintains its proper alignment.
Open/Closed Fracture
When a bone breaks, but there is no puncture or open wound in the skin, this is referred to as a closed fracture.
An open fracture occurs when the bone penetrates the skin.
Avulsion Fracture
An avulsion fracture occurs when a tendon or ligament that is attached to the bone pulls a piece of the fractured bone off.
