Perfectly Pocket Pit Versa, a pocket pitbull, needs knee surgery to be pain and arthritic free. This fundraiser offers online garage sale and craft items for donations.

Versa is a three year old pocket pit who was rescued from a dog fighting ring in May of 2014. Versa initially joined our family as a foster for Orlando Bully Rescue, but she quickly worked her way into our hearts so we adopted Versa in April of 2015. Right after we adopted Versa, we took her for a walk and saw that she was limping. We took her to the vet and were given a presumptive diagnosis of c

ongenital luxating patella. Luxating patella occurs when the knee does not lock into the leg properly, moving from side to side and is very painful when it’s as severe as Versa’s case is. After taking Versa to a specialist, the diagnosis was confirmed. We were blindsided not only emotionally, but financially. The surgery cost is about $1300 per leg. Unfortunately, we had no contingency fund for surgery, forcing us to pay with a loan. We are selling various items in an attempt to raise money for her and are picking up work where we can to help, like making greeting cards for surgery donations (see "Plans"). Versa has lived a hard life and deserves the best. We will be getting her surgeries done as soon as possible in the hope that she can be the happy girl we adopted. Plan #1: Online garage sale
Our parents have graciously donated items to add to our collection of items we listed on a virtual garage sale. Please visit http://tinyurl.com/o9y8s2m to find a list of the items you can purchase for cheap!!! Prices of items are here: http://tinyurl.com/ogc6oyb. Just email us at [email protected] or PM us to set up a pick up time and location in and around Orlando. If you have items you can donate, we’ll gladly take those as well! Plan #2: Greeting cards
Cards for donation. I'd like to set it at $15, but talk to me if you can't do $15, every donation counts. To order a card, simply make a donation through the youcaring fundraiser www.youcaring.com/versa-the-pocket-pit-374994 and then email [email protected] or PM me letting me know which design you’d like and your mailing address. All cards are about 3-5" in length and can be customized to a different saying or look, for example: "It's a boy vs. It's a girl", to be certain colors, etc. Plan #3: Personalized scrapbooks
I can make a personalized scrapbook for the first three people who donate $100 towards Versa's surgery. Just send me 15-20 photos to include in your scrapbook to [email protected] and prepare to be amazed. :D

Plan #4: Youcaring
Perhaps Apopka Freedom Fighter Versa has tugged at your heartstrings and you happen to find some pocket change you can donate. Any amount would mean the world to us and get her one step closer to being the most happy pocket pit ever. Chris and I are hoping to raise enough to pay for one knee surgery through the fundraiser while we get a loan to pay for the first knee surgery, although it will be a bit of a challenge as we are both full time students, we don’t have awesome paying jobs yet, and we’ve maxed out our other loans at the moment. Our total goal of fundraising would be $2592 (this is without X-rays and the E-collar). I’m going to stay positive! (update: We're currently at 485 on youcaring, YAY!!!)

If you find yourself able, please please please share Versa’s story so we can spread the word and send positive thoughts and prayers her way. We are hoping to get Versa back to tumbling over herself but with non-bum knees. I love to post photos of Versa so we will definitely keep you updated! Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Love,

Neyda, Chris, and Versa (the perfect pocket pitbull)
