Each month, The Carrier Pigeon Post publishes and distributes, free of charge,
a 4-color, 8-page, hope-filled, newsprint paper. They do so because they believe in the possibilities afforded by narrative-inspired imagination.

We are happy to show off the amazing work led by FCHEP Board Member Sonya Cronin, and through Books Behind Bars continue to share their newspapers for free to thousands of incarcerated people.

FPEP would like to invite you to join us in celebrating the beginning of our new Rising Scholars Mentorship Program on September 29th at 3 pm in the Solarium in the UCF Library.

The Rising Scholars Program at UCF is designed to support students who have been justice-impacted — whether through incarceration, probation, or the incarceration of a family member—by providing resources, mentorship, and advocacy to help them thrive in higher education. At UCF, we believe in unleashing the potential of every student, and the Rising Scholars program seeks to remove barriers and create pathways to student success. This year, we are dedicated to advancing our goal of peer and faculty mentorship, student cohorts, and networking opportunities to foster belonging and empower students to become leaders.

We wanted to shoutout the great donations we’ve recieved from University of Tampa’s Dr. Amanda I. Osuna, and Dr. Kayla Toohy, and to the many more who have contributed to our local prison libraries!
