CONTENT #5 : Ways to overcome procrastination

Do you procrastinate more than usual?🙄

Procrastination is an active process that involves choosing to do something else instead of doing something that needs to be done. Rather than being a time-management issue, procrastination usually happens because you have difficulty dealing with negative feelings like boredom or anxiety.😟

These tips can help you get back on track if you struggle to put things off👇👇👇

1) Get rid of Overthinking
Procrastination is often caused by overthinking. It may be because of how boring, difficult, or painful a task will be, but the fundamental belief is that it will not be possible.

2) Get your calendar ready
It is not always a good idea to work on a project when you have time. Put a date on your calendar when you will work on it, just as you would for a formal meeting.

3) Break up the project
Break up the task into manageable chunks to avoid procrastination. For example, if you're writing a book, identify the chapters, determine what each chapter contains, then write one segment at a time. Breaking it down will help you feel less overwhelmed.

4. Never give up on yourself
Organize your schedule for unexpected events. Projects are likely to take longer than expected, so set aside plenty of time for them and consider ways to make your schedule easier.

5. Optimize your environment
When you are working on a particular task, close your email and instant messaging, turn off your phone and don't open the internet until you have completed the task, or postpone any internet searches until the end.
