OCPS families:
Contacting your childβs school will be easier than ever this year!
We learned in the Spring 2023 communications survey that parents and guardians prefer to communicate with their childβs teacher and other school staff in text messages when they cannot talk with them face-to-face. So, starting this year, OCPS parents and guardians can receive text messages from school staff and reply effortlessly from your mobile phone using TalkingPoints! π±π¬
These text messages will be translated into your preferred language. The best part is no action is required on your part to get started. However, if you prefer, you can also download the TalkingPoints app.
You can opt out of TalkingPoints at any time - just reply STOP to the message you receive on your mobile phone. We hope this new tool helps strengthen communication between home and school!
If you happened to receive an incorrect message from TalkingPoints, you should have received an update. The vendor apologizes for the error.
School supplies lists for the 23-24 school year are posted in the School Information tab of our school website. Once there, you'll see the Back to School section.

Join us for our SAC meeting on Tuesday April 11 at 7:30a in the Media Center!
We are putting together a digital literacy magazine at the end of April.
Today, your Mariner received the information about this optional literacy project. We encourage you to review the project with your Mariner and support him or her if there is interest in submitting the work to this year's SAC digital literacy magazine.
Submissions are due to your Mariner's teacher by April 17.
Parents if you are interested in being on this council, please apply.

Parents and OCPS employees needed to serve on the District Literacy Council. The council is a collaborative group of school administrators, teachers, certified media specialists, parents, and student service representatives who determine whether a book that has been objected to may remain in school library media center collections throughout the district.
