let me test out a set of H Bars. I have been curious about Jones’ stuff for years but never ridden any of it until now. Jeff Jones used to work at my LBS when I was a kid and was super cool to all of us BMX rats 🤙🏾 and I am stoked to see what he has done for cyclists. Interested in my thoughts on the H Bars?

Fresh cables and tires (knobbies ftw)! This thing is 99.9% original including the cables it would seem. On a cruise around the local trails with the kids, the front brake cable snapped! So a freshening up was in order and that included some actual mtb tires. I kept as much of the original housing and ferrules as possible and now she’s smooth and reliable. Now it’s time to decide if she’s a show piece, a sometimes neighborhood cruiser, or a daily driver ready for an updated cockpit 🤔. Perhaps a and/or upgrade?

Twist shifters make a lot of sense on some kids’ bikes but not always. Tiny hands may have a hard time getting a good grip/leverage to actually twist them. Welcome to the 80’s kiddo. Full shifting power for micro paws now ✋
