Walt and I have that in common. Except mine was a mouse named Lilly.

It was in front of my fellow 5th grade classmates while reciting the book, “Julius the Baby of the World” by Kevin Henkes and wearing a mouse tail and a crown, that I realized I enjoyed the thrill of speaking in front of other people.

Ever since then, I have been speaking in front of audiences large and small through my involvement with Speech and Debate Team. I competed in many different events such as After Dinner Speaking, Duo Interpretation, Impromptu, and Communication Analysis.

Then after I graduated college, I had the privilege of coaching my university's Speech team where I encouraged my students find their voice through public speaking. While coaching the team, I also started to share my experience and passion for public speaking with elementary students and high school students at after school programs and in homeschool classes in Orange County, California.

As I grew as a public speaker and experienced communicator, I really started to see how important it was to to be able to articulate your personal beliefs and opinions through effective communication. And so I decided to continue my education in order to be able to speak out and use my voice for my faith.

In 2021, I decided to take all my experience, education, and passion for using the voice God has given me and create Speak Out Loud Academy to help the next generation learn how to speak out loud. Speak Out Loud Academy continues to grow each semester and gives so many homeschoolers the confidence and practice they need in order to be an effective communicator!

Register now - classes start September 7th!

Join us for this live, online A-G approved class on Wednesdays from 1pm-2pm PST.

Whether your student is already an excellent communicator or they need more experience and confidence with public speaking, this class if for them! During this year-long course, students will develop the skills required to be an effective presenter both in person and online. Students will learn how to write and perform different types of speeches such as informative, impromptu, and oral interpretation while also learning virtual presentation etiquette.

I had the honor of speaking at the Heartland Charter School Graduation last week. What a privilege it was to speak to the seniors, some of which were my public speaking students, and encourage them on their journey while exemplifying how to SPEAK OUT LOUD!

You're invited come watch the performance of the play... CINDERELLA: A MODERN MAKEOVER

There will be 2 performances done by different classes:
Wednesday, May 18th at 2pm*
Thursday May 19th at 1:30pm

Admission is FREE! Just bring your lawn chair and join us at Speak Out Loud Academy for a hilarious show and a fun time!

*The Wednesday showing of Cinderella will also feature a few short performances of Duos, which is a speech event where a pair of performers will act out a short script. These short duos include Mulan, Wizard of Oz, and Cindy & Julie.

During this 8 week apologetics course leading up to Easter, we will look at evidence for the resurrection of Jesus that proves it was a historical event. We will learn through age-appropriate hands-on activities, bible memorization, and critical thinking.

Each week, the students will learn about a specific evidence for the resurrection and then practice being able to explain it and it’s significance so that they can "be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have" (1 Peter 3:15).

This 8 week class runs from February 22nd to April 12th, 2022

2nd-5th Graders meet TUESDAYS from 11am-12pm
6th-12th graders meet TUESDAYS from 3pm- 4pm

Price: $100 per semester
*Charter school funds cannot be used for this class.

ENRICHMENT CLASSES START THIS WEEK!

Whether your students are homeschooled, public schooled, private schooled, or in a charter school- they are welcome to join our in-person classes!

THEATRE: (Tuesdays 2:30-4pm OR Wednesdays 1-2:30pm) Kids 2nd grade and up are invited to join one of our casts as we perform "Cinderella: A Modern Makeover" and "Pandora's Socks and Other Fractured Greek Myths"!

PUBLIC SPEAKING: (Thursdays 3-4pm) High School Students will learn how to write speeches and practice presenting in front of their classmates, which is an invaluable, lifelong skill!

APOLOGETICS: (Tuesdays 11am-12pm) Students 6th grade and up will dive into the evidence that proves the resurrection of Jesus really happened!

Amazing! I learned so much. This was such a well-thought out class and I enjoyed it very much, even though public speaking can be scary. It taught me perserverane and to be more confident in myself.​
