My name is Brandy Williamson. I hold a Bachelor of Music from McMaster University, following the successful completion of my Grade 10 RCM Practical Piano Exam and Grade 2 Theory.
For over 20 years, I’ve been teaching piano in a variety of settings, both during the day and in the evenings. I’ve had the privilege of running my own private studio in both the Burlington and Leamington areas, working with students of different ages and skill levels.
After the birth of my daughters, I spent four years attending Early Music Education classes. This experience allowed me to integrate foundational musical concepts into our daily routines and gave me deeper insight into how young children engage with music.
In addition to teaching, I’ve also enjoyed accompanying in church settings and collaborating with vocal ensembles and fellow musicians during my time at university.
More recently, I’ve begun learning braille in order to support my oldest daughter with her homework, with the goal of becoming proficient in music braille code to further assist her and others in the future.
Parents often comment on my patience, and I truly value that part of my teaching approach. I love seeing that moment when something “clicks” for a student. Everyone learns differently, and I believe music education is most successful when we adapt our methods to meet each student’s unique learning style.
I look forward to working with you or your child and seeing what we can accomplish.
