🌊 ☀️ As pool season gets underway, it’s a good time to make sure the same mindset we bring to preparedness on the job is reflected at home.

Take a few minutes to review water safety with your family: secure gates and barriers, establish a dedicated water watcher during gatherings, and make sure those closest to you know what to do if an emergency occurs.

When it comes to water-related emergencies, preparation is often the difference between a close call and a tragedy.

Congratulations to the members of Hybrid Paramedic Academy 55 on successfully completing the didactic phase of paramedic school.

This milestone reflects months of discipline, sacrifice, and commitment to mastering the knowledge required to provide advanced prehospital care. We are especially proud of the firefighters from Ontario Fire Department, alongside students serving with Rancho Cucamonga Fire Department and private ambulance companies, who continued serving their communities while advancing their education and professional development.

We wish the entire class continued success as they move forward into the clinical and field internship portions of their paramedic training.

🇺🇸 🪖 Memorial Day carries a different weight in professions built around service, sacrifice, and duty to others. Today, we pause to remember the men and women who never made it home from military service and recognize the families who continue carrying that loss.

From our firefighters to the Ontario community, we hope the day is spent with reflection, gratitude, and respect for what was given in service to this country.

During Building Safety Month, incidents like this are a reminder that multi-family fires demand disciplined coordination from the first minute — reading conditions, protecting exposures, searching when needed, and staying locked in with the crew beside you.

For the community, building safety starts before the emergency: working smoke alarms, closed bedroom doors, clear exits, and knowing two ways out can buy critical time when conditions change fast.

🧠🧑‍🚒 Mental Health Awareness Month is an important reminder that the stress carried in this profession does not always stay on the fireground.

Long shifts, difficult calls, disrupted sleep and the pressure to constantly perform at a high level can take a toll over time — which is why taking care of your mental health has to be treated with the same seriousness as your physical health.

Sometimes that means stepping outside for fresh air after a tough shift, getting out for a walk, making time for the things you enjoy, practicing controlled breathing to slow things down, or simply talking to someone you trust instead of carrying everything alone.
