Join us in celebrating Milo and Monty the Harbor seals this International Day of the Seal!

Both of these boys are turning 8 this year. Monty can often be found taking naps underwater, and Milo’s care team says he’s the least picky of the 5 Pinnipeds we care for.

Make sure to stop by Owens Sea Lion Shores and say hi!

We’re partying like it’s Hope’s 3rd birthday today! (Because it is 🎉)

3 years ago, we shared Hope’s inspirational story with you all. A story of resilience and enduring spirit, Hope continues to inspire us every day.

Beyond an inspirational story, Hope shows preference to bananas and regularly participates in training sessions with her care team, who she has a strong affinity for.

Join us in wishing Hope a happy 3rd birthday!

We’re saddened to share the loss of Kali, our 24-year-old female okapi.

In late February, after experiencing several age-related health challenges, the compassionate decision was made to humanely euthanize her as her quality of life declined despite the dedicated care and treatment provided by our Animal Care and Animal Health teams.

Kali was known for her independence and soft nature. Those who cared for her often joked that it was Kali’s world and the rest of us were simply part of it.

At 24 years old, she lived well beyond the median life expectancy for okapi, a reflection of the daily care and expertise provided by the teams who looked after her throughout her life.

Kali will be deeply missed by our staff and by the many guests who connected with her over the years.
