We started a new award this year at KSTM, that will be part of our yearly recognition:
The Spirit of a KSTM Champion.

This award is a Tip of the Hat to Julie Pouncil and Terry Grigsby for the ways they connected with kids both in and out of the classroom. Being there for others in both seen and unseen ways. A reliable role model, a steady presence, and a joy to work with. And all the work done with an award winning smile!!!

Our first SPIRIT of a KSTM CHAMPION goes to…Mr. James La Rosa! 🙌🏻

At our 2025-2026 staff awards, KSTM recognized Mrs. Julie Pouncil for her Excellence in Teaching. She was dedicated to improving the lives of others, always there with a smile, or tough love, or whatever was needed. She reached our kids with her love of learning and helped our staff during professional development as she would guide others through the lesson’s she had learned. Julie….we are honored to have worked along side you,and we miss you tremendously! Thank you for your service! 😇🧡🖤❤️💜

Excellence in Teaching award goes to Ms. Maranda Allbritten. She is dedicated to the KSTM students, she is a joy to work with, and the kids produce amazing works of art under her instruction! Bravo!!! Well deserved!

The Shining Stars ⭐️…Ms. Jenny Brockman and Mrs. Brooke Fallas! Wow! They work well together and are such a team, we appreciate the knowledge and dedication they bring to KSTM!

Our classified staff member of the year…Ms. Crystal Stewart. She makes sure that both staff and students have the resources they need and is a top-notch decorator, she makes everything she touches more beautiful and leaves it better than she found it! Thank you for all you do for KSTM!

The Heart ❤️ Of KSTM goes to…Mrs. Teisha Rush! She is a joy to work with and pushes our kids to strive for excellence! Thank you for all you do to make KSTM the place to me and all the love you pour into the kids, community and our staff!!!

The KSTM Extra Mile Award goes to…Mr. Odell Santos! Always there with a smile, always there to make it better, and always there to lend a helping hand! We appreciate you, Santos!!!!

Special shout-out to our top tier Special Education department at KSTM. This crew is better together and we are better as a community because of them!!! Thank you for all you do to support the staff and students at KSTM!
