Hooked on safety! 🚒🔥 Last week Bancroft students had an unforgettable experience with Firefighter Josh Fry, Captain Nick Lemek, and Firefighter CJ Miller. They learned the 3 keys for emergencies and got a hands-on tour of a real firetruck — smiles and bravery all around. 🙌👦👧 Huge thanks to OFD for helping keep our Broncos safe!

Did you know a short outdoor break can boost focus and celebrate good behavior? 🌞 Earlier this month each class stepped outside to enjoy the spring weather, play games, and reward students for following our school-wide MTSS-B expectations. It’s one of the simplest — and most rewarding — ways to recognize hard work during the 2025–2026 school year. What quick outdoor activities do you use to celebrate students? Have you ever learned more by seeing it in real life? 😊 Last Friday our 4th graders spent the day at the award-winning Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo, searching for all the science concepts they studied this year — and they found so many! We are incredibly thankful for ALL our school partners who make hands-on learning possible. 🐾🌱🦉

Want a field trip that brings history to life? Our 4th-grade class visited The Durham Museum in Omaha and had an unforgettable day: exploring restored train cars and a steam engine on Track 1, stepping into a 1890s one-room schoolhouse to try period lessons, learning about Native American earth lodges and tipis, and seeing recreated worker cottages and pioneer life — plus hands-on exhibits and seasonal LEGO activities. 🚂🪶🏫

4th Grade celebrated Arbor Day by walking down to Lauritzen Gardens and learning all about trees! Did you know, Arbor Day was started right here in Nebraska by J. Sterling Morton back in 1872? Over one million trees were planted on the first Arbor Day! It is celebrated every year on the last Friday in April.

Yesterday was National Kindergarten Day — huge shoutout to our amazing Kindergarten Team! 🧡 Mrs. Busch’s class took a moment to celebrate the foundation years of learning. If your child turns 5 by Jul 31, 2026, stop by the Bancroft office to register. Who made your kindergarten experience special?
