50 years later, the bonds remain.

MCC connections run deep, and this week, alumni from the MCC Practical Nursing Class of 1976 returned to the South Omaha Campus to reconnect, reminisce and see how the college's nursing education programs have evolved. They also received authentic nursing caps and a custom-framed class photo. πŸ₯Ή πŸ’™

A special celebration of the MCC Health Programs and their legacy in Omaha. πŸ‘

Medical Assisting student, Jerry Walters, recently won the Heart for Learning Award at the Nebraska Society of Medical Assistants (NSMA) 60th Annual Conference.

Here's an excerpt from his nomination: What makes Jerry's story especially profound is that he is not just a caregiver, he is also a survivor. As a heart transplant patient, he has lived through uncertainty, fear, and hope that comes with waiting for and receiving a new heart. That experience reshaped his life in ways he never expected. It deepened his gratitude, strengthened his resolve, and awakened in him a new calling.
Despite balancing coursework with his responsibilities as a CNA, Jerry approaches every class with dedication and humility... His presence elevates the learning environment and reminds everyone that it is never too late to pursue something meaningful. His story continues to inspire everyone at MCC, and his future patients will undoubtedly feel the impact of his extraordinary heart, both the one he was born with, and the one that gave him a second chance. ❀️

Last month, we hosted a group of students for our Junior Medical Camp in partnership with MCC's Continuing Education division. Each day they got hands-on with our EMS, Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, and Medical Assisting programs. Swipe to see the fun we got up to!

Children's Nebraska's Pathway to Healthcare Internship students visited our campus this summer. They went wild over our pig lungs (who knew they were so popular?), got up close and personal with Petey the manikin (he's a real charmer), and even gave our synthetic cadaver, Ricky, a shot (no he didn't flinch)! We had a blast hosting theses future medical masters!
