Today, we are highlighting Amari Johnson, a culturally-grounded educator and purpose-driven mentor who is passionate about creating safe spaces where students feel empowered to learn, grow, and be themselves. 💫

“To help educators connect with other educators while refocusing on their purpose in education.”

When asked why a school like Identity Preparatory Academy is important, she shared:

“I believe this will be a safe space for learning where young ladies can be themselves while learning about the world around them through hands-on experiences. Middle school is an age of exploration and molding for many individuals, so this is a great age group to focus in on.”

Current 3rd Grade Families ✨

Here is an opportunity specifically for families of incoming 4th grade scholars to join us virtually and learn more about Identity Preparatory Academy as we prepare for our Fall 2026 launch.

Join our upcoming Virtual Information Session on Thursday, May 28th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to learn more about our school model, application process, and what makes Identity Prep a unique learning experience for girls in North Omaha. Families will also have the opportunity to ask questions and connect with our team.

Several families have already completed applications for consideration as we prepare to welcome our founding cohort of up to 30 scholars.

Interested families must attend an Information Session before moving forward in the enrollment process.

💫We are continuing our Educator Wisdom & Joy Campaign by highlighting incredible educators who have connected through Identity Prep and are making a lasting impact in the communities they serve.

Today, we are highlighting Jas Posey, a literacy leader and culture-centered educator who believes in the power of student voice, storytelling, and affirming learning spaces.

When asked why spaces like our Educator Joy Convening are important, she shared:

“These sessions are important because they provide a dedicated, supportive environment to share experiences and challenges that are unique to Black women and women of color, free from microaggressions and judgment.”

When asked why a school like Identity Preparatory Academy is important, Jas shared:

“There’s Marian, Mercy, Duchesne, and now Identity Preparatory Academy. It’s comforting to know that the women and people leading this effort genuinely care about our city’s female youth and recognize that our girls need an affirming space before entering high school. That compassion and dedication will inevitably be absorbed by the girls who attend this school. What a glorious initiative.”
