TUESDAY | PINNING PHILOSOPHY
The mistake usually isn't what beats you.
It's what happens in your head afterward.
You give up a takedown.
Miss an opportunity.
Make a bad decision.
And suddenly you're thinking about what happened instead of what's happening right now.
Here's something I teach athletes:
Acknowledge it. Breathe. Next job.
Don't ignore the mistake.
Don't beat yourself up over it either.
Take a breath and ask:
โWhat do I need to do next?โ
We'll learn from the mistake later.
Right now, there's another position to wrestle.
That's mental performance.
Not being perfect.
Learning how to respond when you're not.
If your athlete struggles to recover from mistakes, losses, or bad calls, send me a message.
That's something we can train.
