The Nebraska Early Childhood Collaborative (NECC) was established in 2014 as a strategic initiative of the Buffet Early Childhood Fund.

The Nebraska Early Childhood Collaborative (NECC) is a statewide organization connecting, equipping, and empowering child care providers and families with young children to strengthen early learning across Nebraska. NECC administers consulting and back office services for early childhood development and care centers.

Collaboration is the cornerstone of how we work at NECC. Without the voices of child care providers, families with young children, and our staff who live our mission day in and day out, we wouldn't be where we are today.

Diverse communities frequently face unequal access to early learning because of transportation barriers, language access challenges, and workforce shortages. Early learning should not be a luxury.

Rural communities face some of the largest child care shortages in the country. More than half of Americans live in a “child care desert,” where there are far more children than licensed child care slots.
