As Faculty Inservice wraps up and we look forward to the start of school tomorrow, we are excited to introduce JPII’s newest faculty members!

We are thrilled to welcome them into the school community, and are so grateful for the gifts, dedication, and mentorship they are bringing to our students this year.

Holy Ghost Catholic Church is excited to continue our partnership with St. John Paul II Academy as the school expands its footprint on our parish campus for the 2026-27 school year.

In addition to continuing to use the Holy Ghost School Building, JPII is expanding into the former Holy Ghost Child Care Center and Convent — now known as the St. Joseph Building.

The additional space will provide classrooms for students in grades 6-12, larger faculty work spaces and a dedicated Atrium for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Levels I & II.

Over the summer, members of the JPII and Holy Ghost communities have been working together to prepare the St. Joseph Building for the new school year. JPII students have even joined the effort, helping with renovations including removing carpet, replacing flooring, building classroom walls and painting.

We are grateful to see these spaces continue to serve Catholic education and formation and look forward to welcoming JPII students, faculty and families back to campus for another school year!

What a treat to be able to welcome Dr. Matthew Mehan to Omaha! Tuesday evening was filled with laughter and lively discussion as guests heard about “The American Book of Fables” and celebrated the rich history of our beautiful nation. 🇺🇸

We are grateful for Dr. Mehan’s visit and his presentation, and special thanks to Hillsdale College and Sophia Institute Press for making this incredible event possible.

Have you heard? We’re expanding! 🤩🎉

St. John Paul II Academy is thrilled to continue its partnership with Holy Ghost Catholic Church and expand its footprint for the 2026-27 school year.

Not only will JPII remain in the usual Holy Ghost School Building, but the school will also be housed in what once was the Convent, now known as the “St. Joseph Building.”

🇺🇸 Calling all patriots and lovers of tall tales! Join us on August 4th, 2026 at 6:30pm in St. Peter Catholic Church Parish Hall (28th and Leavenworth Streets, Omaha).

Hillsdale College Professor and acclaimed author Dr. Matt Mehan will be presenting and leading a discussion on the power of storytelling, the beauty of America, and how fables share timeless lessons on freedom, friendship, and moral character.

Dr. Mehan will also be sharing about his newest book, “The American Book of Fables”, that invites readers of all ages to rediscover the landscapes, virtues, and enduring ideals that shape the American story.

The 2026 Institute for Catholic Liberal Education National Conference - our faculty’s favorite way to prepare for the upcoming school year!

What a gift to gather with other visionary educators from across the world to reflect and engage with the Church’s full vision for Catholic Education!

Inspired by the words of St. Catherine and the compelling scene depicted in Caravaggio’s “The Calling of Saint Matthew,” the theme of this year’s conference was Stepping into the Light. The conference placed special emphasis on how Catholic liberal education moves hearts, minds, and the world toward “Stepping into the Light,” at Christ’s invitation to, “Follow me” (Matthew 9:9).
