🌍 Global Public Health Week Spotlight
Public health is about more than treating illness—it’s about strengthening communities, preventing disease, and creating systems that help everyone thrive.
This week, we’re highlighting four key pillars that drive healthier populations:
💉 Prevention & Health Promotion
From vaccination programs to lifestyle education and early screenings, prevention saves lives and reduces long-term healthcare costs.
🏛 Policy & Systems Change
Stronger policies—like smoke-free laws, nutrition labeling, and community-centered urban planning—shape healthier environments for all.
⚖️ Health Equity Focus
Reducing disparities and ensuring culturally appropriate care means meeting people where they are and addressing systemic barriers.
🤝 Community Engagement
Real impact happens when we listen, partner, and co-create solutions with the communities we serve.
Public health focuses on communities—not just individuals. When we invest in prevention, equity, and collaboration, we improve outcomes for everyone.

Cultural humility is at the heart of meaningful health research.
At Mission University, we believe that research must do more than generate data—it must respect the communities it serves, foster authentic engagement, and build lasting trust.
By listening, learning, and partnering with diverse populations, we ensure that our work is ethical, inclusive, and impactful.
Stronger relationships lead to stronger research—and better outcomes for all.

We are so proud of the Arcadia students traveling with Mission University and the heart they demonstrated during their time in Belfast.
Serving individuals experiencing homelessness — many facing complex chronic medical conditions alongside behavioral health challenges — requires more than clinical knowledge. It requires compassion, humility, patience, and a willingness to truly see people. You showed all of that and more.
Thank you for giving your time, your skills, and your presence to those who are too often overlooked. The impact you made goes far beyond checklists and clinical hours — it lives in the dignity you affirmed, the trust you built, and the hope you helped restore.
As we now transition to Dublin for the next two weeks, we carry forward the relationships built, the lessons learned, and the commitment to serve with excellence and empathy. A new city, new partners, and new opportunities to make a difference await.
Belfast is better because you were here —
With gratitude.❤️🙏

Grateful for leadership that shows up. 🙌
A huge thank you to our Mission University Board Director and Arcadia University Ireland Program Physician of Record, Dr. Elliot Goodman, for spending time with our students in Belfast this week.
From clinical insight to compassionate presence, Dr. Goodman visited our team as they serve alongside local homeless services—encouraging, mentoring, and reminding us why this work matters.
So proud of our students stepping in with humility and heart, and thankful for leaders who invest in them every step of the way. 💙

Ever wonder what it takes to get ready for a global health experience in Ireland? 🇮🇪✨
Right now, our team is busy behind the scenes preparing for the Mission University Ireland program with Arcadia University Physician Assistant students. From coordinating clinical learning opportunities and community health outreach with collaboration partners, to finalizing housing, transportation, and safety protocols, every detail is designed to support meaningful learning and responsible engagement.
We’re working closely with local partners to:
- Align clinical experiences with Arcadia’s PA curriculum with a community development focus
- Ensure students are prepared with cultural context and public health foundations
- Build opportunities for reflection, mentorship, and impact through serving vulnerable populations
It’s more than a trip—it’s a step toward compassionate, globally minded practice. Stay tuned as we get ready to welcome Arcadia PA students to Ireland and share more from the field. 🌍💙
